See The Simpsons Take On An Iconic Horror Movie
The Simpsons is tackling the iconic horror movie It, in a new Treehouse of Horror parody called, Not It.

The Simpsons have been on the air for a staggering 34 seasons, and every year the longest-running show on TV gets into the spirit of Halloween with the Treehouse of Horror specials. This year is no different, as the animated phenom is set to tackle another spooky episode for Halloween time, only this time they are taking on the hit horror movie, It. Krusty the Klown will embody Pennywise in a parody special that is aptly titled, Treehouse of Horror Presents: Not It.
It is a bit odd that it has taken The Simpsons this long to tackle It, though the reboot chapters did just release a few years ago. While the original It mini-series may have been a draw when it was released on television in 1990, the newer version with Bill Skarsgard became massively successful, which is likely why the animated titan is now covering it. From the above images that have been released, this new It parody might just be one of the best Treehouse of Horror specials ever released.
Carl, Homer, Moe, Comic Book Guy, and Marge take on the role of the children who are tormented by Pennywise aka Krusty the Klown in Not It, which you can see in the image above. The Simpsons It parody looks to be one of the more inventive ways in which the series has tackled its Halloween special, especially by using characters that aren’t used as often as the main family is. Comic Book Guy is a nice choice to bring into this parody.
The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror specials have come out every year, seeing the program tackle iconic horror films like The Shining, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and The Nightmare on Elm Street. However, this will be the first time in the show’s history that an entire Halloween episode is dedicated to one movie. It did take two chapters to tell the entire story, so it will be interesting to see how it is done in this parody, with only 20 minutes to do so.
We are not sure if the 20-minute runtime is enough to tell the entire story of It, but it appears as if The Simpsons is up for that challenge. To be fair, most of their horror movie parodies have been around eight-minute-long segments that have gone over quite well, so we might just be nitpicking at this point.
The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Presents: Not It special is set to premiere on Fox on October 23, 2023. We would assume that the new season will then make its way over to Disney+, as the streaming platform has not become the hub for all the other episodes of the show that have preceded it. We would assume that the Halloween special will be made to stream on the Fox website, assuming that those watching have a cable provided to use to log in, but either way, it will make its way to Disney+ at some point in the future.
