Millie Bobby Brown fans recently got a first look at the actress as a fierce Princess warrior when Netflix released footage from Damsel. The 18-year-old is seen wielding a sword and looking rather disheveled post-battle. While some folks quickly turned the clip into mini gifs of the Stranger Things star, the streamer released an official photo on social media.
Billed as a fantasy film, Damsel is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo from a script by Dan Mazeau. The story follows Princess Elodie (Millie Bobby Brown) who, after marrying a Prince, discovers that she will be sacrificed to the Kingdom’s sacred cave dragon to repay an ancient debt. When she realizes that no one will save her, Elodie decides to slay the beast herself.
Damsel will be released worldwide on Netflix on October 13. Starring alongside Millie Bobby Brown as Princess Elodie is Nick Robinson as Prince Henry, Angela Bassett as Elodie’s stepmother, Lady Bayford, Robin Wright as Queen Isabelle, and Ray Winstone as the King. Brooke Carter, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Ulli Ackermann also star.
Millie Bobby Brown has also been working on another project for Netflix. The Enola Holmes star is currently working on the sci-fi adventure film, The Electric State. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the story is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Simon Stalenhag.
The story follows a girl named Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown) who is sent a robot by her missing brother. With the help of her new AI friend, she sets out to find him. The movie’s ensemble cast also features Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Giancarlo Esposito, Anthony Mackie, and Billy Bob Thornton. It is set for release in January 2024.
Away from the cameras, Millie Bobby Brown has been spending most of her time with her boyfriend, Jake Bongiovi. The 18-year-old recently dedicated a social media post to her “partner for life” alongside a black and white photo strip. “Endlessly in love with the year I’ve had!” she wrote. “Here’s to another year with you and the wonderful people and animals around us. Let’s do it again but better!”
Jake, who also happens to be the son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, commented on the post with a gushy message of his own, saying, “Your year babe love you so much.” He later returned the sentiment with a candid-filled tribute to Millie Bobby Brown.

They also made their first official red carpet appearance as a couple at the 2022 British Academy Film Awards. According to Teen Vogue, Millie Bobby Brown wore an elegant Louis Vuitton black dress with a lace bandeau and black gloves. Meanwhile, Jake wore a black and white Fendi tuxedo.
