See Miles Teller As Marvel’s Nova
We have a brilliant look at what actor Miles Teller might look like as Marvel's Nova and it is pretty cosmic.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, with new Disney+ shows, feature films, and Paul Rudd explanations as to what is up with Thanos’ butt seemingly arriving every day. One of the more interesting and vague recent developments was that Marvel Studios is developing a project based around Nova aka Richard Rider, though very few details have emerged as of yet. We do not know whether Marvel’s Nova will be a show or a movie or possibly a Kevin Feige fever dream, but some fan art has already posited: what if it was Miles Teller? There have already been rumors of the actor’s potential casting as Nova and some fan art has emerged. Check it out:
A very talked illustrator and art director named Arkin Tyagi (using the Instagram handle @_artkin_) recently posted a picture of their image of Miles Teller as Marvel’s Nova. Tyagi’s depiction of Nova is very faithful to the traditional comic book character; Miles Teller is wearing the blue and gold uniform of the Nova Corps, complete with glowing power nodules across his chest. He is holding his helmet at his hip; the distinctive red star pattern between the eyes is especially well-drawn. Miles Teller himself is looking particularly dashing in the picture, with Superman-like S-curls falling across his forehead.
Miles Teller is having a particularly good year, co-starring with Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick. He plays Lt. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw in the long-delayed sequel to the 1986 jet fighter classic; the movie proved to be astoundingly successful at the box office and with critics, generally being considered one of the best of Cruise’s long career. Miles Teller has also recently starred in the Netflix science fiction thriller Spiderhead along with the Mighty Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, and the Paramount+ drama The Offer, in which he played real-life film product Albert S. Ruddy.
While there have been rumors of Miles Teller joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, nothing is certain as of yet. We ourselves have word about a certain other major actor taking on the role of Nova, one who already replaced Miles Teller in an almost-Academy Award-winning film a few years back. It has to be admitted that Teller does have some history with the superhero game. He portrayed Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic in the 2015 Josh Trank reboot of Fantastic Four, though it reportedly was not a great experience for anyone involved. And while Miles Teller does have experience in the field of comic book adaptation movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe already said it best what that often means.
Regardless of whether Miles Teller ends up being Marvel’s Nova, Arkin Tyagi did a fantastic job of interpreting him as the space patrolman. Tyagi also has a number of other wonderful depictions of comic book characters on his Instagram, including Taron Egerton as Wolverine (who very well may be showing up in a Russo Brother movie soon), John Krasinski as Reed Richards (which we already got a brief look at), and Tom Cruise as the Hal Jordan version of Green Lantern.
