See Jenna Ortega As DC’s Raven
Fan art has transformed Jenna Ortega into Raven from the Teen Titans.
Jenna Ortega is currently capturing the minds and hearts of everyone in the world, as the famed actress is the star of the second-most watched Netflix series ever, Wednesday. Ortega has become the queen of the macabre in that regard, as she is also a huge star within the confines of the horror genre. However, a fan has dream cast Jenna Ortega in the role of Raven from Teen Titans, which you can see below:
Twitter user, BossLogic, is back with another huge fan art edit, and this time it involves Jenna Ortega in a role we could certainly see her portraying: Raven. Raven is often the most macabre, dry, and gothic character in the Teen Titans team, and considering how well Ortega portrayed Wednesday Addams, she would fit nicely into this role. There is already a live-action Teen Titans series on HBO Max, aptly titled Titans, which sees Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth aka Raven.
Titans is currently one of the only DC properties that have not yet been canceled on HBO Max, and that might be because fans and critics love the series. It currently holds an overall 86% critic approval rating with a decent 71% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, with the huge shakeup happening at DC, we could see a live-action Teen Titans movie being developed with Jenna Ortega leading the cast as Raven.
Jenna Ortega is already part of a huge franchise in Scream, as she is returning as Tara Carpenter for Scream 6. She could be taking over as the lead legacy character in the franchise now that Neve Campbell is reportedly out of the picture. With the massive success of Wednesday, it stands to reason that Ortega is also going to be sticking to that Netflix series for quite some time. Jenna Ortega could then pivot nicely into the superhero genre by portraying Raven in a new take on the Teen Titans.
James Gunn and Peter Safran are currently co-CEOS of the DC Films division, and they recently stated that news about their upcoming DC Universe slate is going to be revealed at the beginning of the year. With Gunn’s proclivity to get the best out of ragtag superhero teams, it would make complete sense for him to bring the Teen Titans into their own live-action movie. Also, with as popular as Jenna Ortega is right now, Gunn might want to strike while the iron is hot and cast her as Raven.
The idea that Jenna Ortega could portray Raven in a potential Teen Titans movie is just hopeful thinking at this point, but we are sure that studios are likely wanting to find any way to bring the actress over. The MCU and DC are perfect places where superstars go to grow their careers even more, and Ortega would fit in nicely in that area, especially as a sarcastic character who relishes in dark magic. We have reported that the MCU is already targeting her to portray White Tiger in the new Daredevil series, but that has not yet been confirmed, so it could be that DC will want to get Ortega in before Marvel acquires her talents first.
