See Henry Cavill As The New James Bond After Superman Firing
Fan art places Henry Cavill in the role of James Bond for No Time to Die.
The news surrounding Henry Cavill has not been great in the past couple of months. The fan-favorite actor was let go by DC, and he also stepped down as Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher. This has led to plenty of fan casting for the man’s future, including some fan art by Rahalarts that places Henry Cavill directly into the role of James Bond, which you can see below:
Henry Cavill being connected to James Bond is not out of the realm of possibility, as he was one of the front runners for the role when it had been announced that Daniel Craig was not moving forward as the world’s most famous spy. Still, there has been no movement on the front of who is going to be the next 007, and this fan art could be a nice push to get Cavill into a role that we all want to see him in. We do know that the Bond producer, Barbara Broccoli, stated that the role is going to be completely changed.
We reported that a person of color was going to be next in line to portray 007, which would certainly make it difficult for Henry Cavill to take on the role of James Bond, but that report has not yet been confirmed. Cavill would make an excellent agent of espionage, as he did so in Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He has also taken on the role of Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes and will be another agent of sorts in the upcoming Argylle movie.
Henry Cavill could still find himself playing James Bond, though he might be a bit too busy when his Warhammer 40,000 franchise kicks off. Cavill is going to be developing a series and movie with Amazon Studios, which will place him at the center of the action. He also has a staggering five other films in the works, which could make it rather difficult for him to make time to be in anything related to 007.
Still, the above fan art is quite convincing in that it dresses Henry Cavill up in the James Bond suit and sunglasses. Granted, No Time to Die was the last feature Craig starred in as Bond, and the fan art seems to be taking the style from that movie and pasting it on Cavill. However, we would be remiss if we didn’t say that Cavill fits in nicely to that style and the role.
We will all have to patiently wait to see who is going to be cast next in the biggest spy franchise, and we would argue that Henry Cavill should not be counted out to portray James Bond. He has the gravitas and style to pull it off, and since two of his franchises have ended, he might be able to make room for a new one. For now, everyone can patiently wait for the final time we see Cavill as Geralt of Rivia when The Witcher Season 3 arrives next year.
