Fans have been getting plenty of rumors regarding Henry Cavill’s return as Superman, and there is also heavy speculation that Cavill could make an appearance in Black Adam. While no one is 100% sure of that fact, the internet is starting to lobby for Cavill to appear in the MCU, and one of the casting suggestions is to see the beloved actor be the next Scott Summers aka Cyclops. The above fan art is quite convincing, and we could definitely see Cavill take on this role.

Fans of Henry Cavill have long been clamoring for him to appear in any sort of Marvel feature, but it appears that his loyalty still lies with DC, which is not a terrible thing. Man of Steel is one of the best solo movies that DC has produced, and it is time to bring back Superman for his own solo story. While the rumors online have indicated that he could be returning as the last son of Krypton, we would also be happy with him appearing in any of the MCU entries.

The multiverse aspect of the MCU is going strong, and we did get to see the dream casting of John Krasinksi as Reed Richards happen, though that was likely just a one-and-done cameo. The same could theoretically happen with Henry Cavill, leaving him to easily return as DC’s Superman. Maybe during Avengers: Secret Wars, Cavill could come in and appear as a multiverse variant of Scott Summers, though we would not wish to see him brutally killed like Krasinski’s Richards was.

Marvel could surprise fans everywhere by bringing in all kinds of variants during this Multiverse Saga that has been built through Phase 4 of the MCU, and which is continuing through Phases 5 and 6. Secret Wars in the comics also contained many variants of every character, which could mean that Henry Cavill might be asked to appear in some fashion, at least if the fans keep begging for it.

One thing is for sure if DC can’t decide to move forward with Henry Cavill as Superman, then the man might have to make the jump to the world of Marvel. Cavill has long been linked to roles within the MCU, though none have materialized just yet. He could be the “leader” of the X-Men, or quite possibly appear in some other role that has not yet been dream cast.

For now, everyone is patiently waiting to see Henry Cavill reprise his role as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 3. Also, Black Adam is set to premiere in theaters next Friday, and everyone has lofty hopes that the movie is going to be shaping the DCEU for the foreseeable future. The best way to create the core of this new version of the DC Universe moving forward would be to bring in Cavill, which is something that Dwayne Johnson has expressed high interest in doing so already, and we know that the man can make it happen.
