See Doom Patrol Tease The End Of Days In Season 4 Video
Doom Patrol Season 4 has dropped a new trailer, which teases the end of the world and Immortus.
HBO Max has released the season 4 trailer for Doom Patrol, and it looks like the end of times is near, but the singing, dancing were-butts are still ever present. The trailer reveals some of what the strangest team of superheroes to come from DC will experience in the next chapter of their story.
The Doom Patrol series was developed by Jeremy Carver using source material from the DC Comics superhero team, who first appeared in My Greatest Adventure: Doom Patrol (volume 1) in June 1963. Each team member has received their powers by tragic circumstances and is shunned by society.
The Chief (Timothy Dalton), a medical doctor, gave the Doom Patrol members sanctuary in his mansion, allowing them to remain safe from those who were unaccepting of their differences. Now the team will need to face the end of times, or will they?
Fans of the series were delighted to learn that Doom Patrol wasn’t part of the numerous cancellations of Warner Brothers Discovery’s CEO David Zaslav’s campaign to cut their budget by $3 billion. Among the cancellations are Batgirl, Green Lantern, and Wonder Twins.
Doom Patrol will release the new season exclusively on HBO Max beginning December 8, 2022, with the first two episodes. The remaining four episodes will air weekly on Thursdays leading up to the season finale on January 5, 2023.
The official trailer reveals the team will experience time travel to the future, where they find an unwelcome surprise. The Doom Patrol will then need to figure out the answer to the question of what is more important, their lives or the future of the world. The team is also decked out in new costumes, but it’s unclear if this is part of the time travel sequence.
At the trailer’s beginning, Willougby (Mark Sheppard) warns the team that something big and dangerous is coming. He also tells them Immortus is real and the end of days is near. There isn’t a clear picture of Immortus in the trailer, but this character has long been the enemy of the Doom Patrol. This could mean big trouble for the team as the Immortus Project pursues immortality.
Returning to the series are Brenden Fraser as Cliff Steele/Robotman, April Bowlby as Rita Farr/Elasti-Woman, Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor/Negative Man, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Joivan Wade as Victor Stone/Cyborg and Michelle Gomez as Laura de Mille/Madame Rouge.
New this season is Casey Brinke as Madeline Zima, an EMT who gets caught up with the team in their newest adventure. Carver has teased that Zima will be a fan favorite as she already is among the cast and crew. Another addition is a mysterious new character, Mr. 104/Jonathan Dubrovny, played by Sendhil Ramamurthy. This character is an obscure villain from DC comics.
Only time will tell how well the fourth season of Doom Patrol is received and if a renewal is in the series’ future. With all of the changes and belt-tightening at Warner Brothers Discovery, it is hard to tell what the figure of the series will be.
