See Bob Odenkirk Return To TV In Lucky Hank First Look
Bob Odenkirk returns to TV in Lucky Hank, which has revealed its first trailer.
It hasn’t taken Bob Odenkirk long to grab his next starring affair in a series, as the man is set to return to TV for Lucky Hank. The new series will officially be released on both AMC and AMC+ on March 19th. AMC also dropped the first trailer for the series, which you can see below, which brings Odenkirk back into the role of an unlucky and disgruntled man.
Much like his partnership with AMC before, Bob Odenkirk returns to this new series that was created by the executive producers of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. The series follows Professor Hank Devereaux, who is the English department head of an underfunded college. Hank can’t seem to get out of his own way, as he goes into full-blown meltdowns while insulting everyone he comes across.
From the above trailer, it looks as though Hank Devereaux (Bob Odenkirk) is tired of his given situation, and the students that are constantly questioning his own blasé attitude towards life. There are some hilarious sequences that are shown, including Hank being snatched by the nose of a notebook, only to insult the person holding said notebook, which looks like it results in a torn nostril. The series looks like the type of on-brand character that just gets messed with and loses his cool, which is a character that Odenkirk has been playing expertly lately.
Interestingly, the series was initially titled Straight Man, which is the name of the novel by Richard Russo that the new show is based on. However, that had only been a working title before it was officially changed to Lucky Hank. Bob Odenkirk is joined by a cast that includes Jacki Gunn, Jackson Kelly, Shannon DeVido, Mireille Enos, and many more.
Bob Odenkirk just wrapped up his time as Saul Goodman in the Better Call Saul prequel series, which ties into the Breaking Bad universe. The prequel series was also a massive hit for creator Vince Gilligan and AMC, which is why the network likely wanted to fast-track this new Odenkirk-led series. There is something about Odenkirk playing a man that has his back against his wall that just works so well.
Bob Odenkirk is also still actively working on Nobody 2, which is the sequel to his hit Falling Down-like movie that was released in 2021. The sequel film was stated to start production this year, though we are not sure if filming has started. What we do know is that Odenkirk gets to return as Hutch Mansell and kick the butts of anyone who happens to mess with him.
Lucky Hank will officially be premiering on both the AMC network and AMC+ streaming service on March 19th. The series brings Bob Odenkirk back to the network that he has been in since the earlier days of Breaking Bad. We honestly can’t wait to see this new series, and we are more than happy that there is going to be a dark humor aspect in this new show, which is a genre in that Odenkirk excels.
