See Adam Driver Take On Dinosaurs In Epic Sci-Fi Thriller
This article is more than 2 years old
Adam Driver returns to outer space in the trailer for 65, only this time, he won’t be fighting for control of the galaxy, he’ll be fighting to survive a prehistoric world of dinosaurs. And people like what they see. The upcoming blockbuster from Sony Pictures Entertainment is the latest monster movie from A Quiet Place writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who share writing and directing credit on the new sci-fi adventure.
Adam Driver, one of three listed cast members in 65, plays an explorer from another planet who leads a small crew to find inhabitable worlds. When their ship collides with an asteroid, Driver crash lands on Earth – 65 million years ago. With the only other survivor being a young girl, Driver must care for the child while navigating a hostile prehistoric Earth and all the carnivorous creatures that roam it.
Joining Adam Driver in the primordial world of 65 is Ariana Greenblatt, whose fledgling career includes impressive credits like Love and Monsters and The Boss Baby 2: Family Business. She notably appeared as Young Gamora in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War.
Directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods look to utilize their horror chops in their latest sci-fi adventure, making 65 one toothy monster movie. Joining the impressive roster of Beck, Woods, and Adam Driver, 65 is produced by horror legend Sam Raimi. If Adam Driver’s crash landing on prehistoric Earth to fight dinosaurs didn’t already sound unhinged enough, Raimi’s involvement with the film is telling as to how bananas this film could be.
Adam Driver has been a hot commodity in Hollywood for several years and seems to be a prime example of the “one for you, one for me” philosophy. Between big-budget fares like The Last Duel or the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Driver routinely appears in much smaller projects like Annette and Paterson; most recently, Driver re-teamed with Marriage Story director Noah Baumbach for the wacky, death-confronting comedy White Noise, which hits Netflix December 30. Fans can expect Adam Driver again in March 2023 when 65 makes its theatrical debut.
Driver’s name has been circulating the rumor mill in recent weeks, with the actor reportedly in talks to reprise his role as Kylo Ren, aka Ben Solo, in an upcoming Star Wars film from Lost creator Damon Lindelof. Adam Driver has also been rumored to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a different man in a metal mask, Fantastic Four nemesis Doctor Doom. Neither role is confirmed, but fans of Adam Driver action can feast on the dino-packed 65 in the meantime.
Next year’s slate is also set to include Michael Mann’s Ferrari, in which Driver plays the Italian sports car man, Enzo Ferrari. Driver is currently at work on Francis Ford Coppola’s sci-fi epic Megalopolis, where he is joined by an all-star cast including Aubrey Plaza, James Remar, Shia LaBeouf, Forest Whitaker, Jason Schwartzman, Dustin Hoffman, Laurence Fishburne, Jon Voight, and more. Whether he’s in an indie award-winner or a blockbuster science fiction film, Adam Driver always delivers, and fans should expect no less from the proven actor in 65 next March.
