LV-223 Has Changed
The alien moon of LV-223 was pretty desolate when the Prometheus arrived to explore it. While they soon uncovered an Engineer vessel packed with dangerous secrets, there didn’t seem to be much in the way of native flora or fauna. That has changed big time in Prometheus: Fire and Stone. Ostensibly hunting for salvage, the crews this new expedition finds…a jungle. While most of LV-223 is still barren, an explosion of alien life has risen up near where they land, populated with both plant and animal life. The strong implication is that the life can be traced back to the black liquid form Prometheus, which the Engineers apparently used to seed/create life, including that of our own species. In addition to strange, biomechanical-looking trees, we see creepy alien “monkeys” as well as some particularly nasty “ants.” Kudos to this new expedition for handling these creatures with more care than the doofuses who made up the original Prometheus mission. (Nobody tries to pet any of them, for one thing.)
