New Images From The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Featuring Plutarch Heavensbee
Yesterday EW released the first look at The Hunger Games: Catching Fire with images featuring the film’s protagonist, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), and fan-favorite Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin). Now the magazine has released more images, this time featuring the new Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman), with a drunken Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), President Snow (Donald Sutherland), and the Everdeen family (Paula Malcomson and Willow Shields).
Fresh off his Academy Award-nominated performance in The Master, Philip Seymour Hoffman dons a purple suit and long overcoat in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He plays the new Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee, after the old Gamemaker, Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley), was executed in The Hunger Games.
The other images feature Katniss with Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) and Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth), being taken away by freaky armed guards in Stormtrooper white armor. These will probably be the last few images from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire until the first teaser trailer is released. Considering the zombie romantic comedy Warm Bodies is also from Lionsgate, look out for the teaser trailer before screenings of that film in February.
Following their success during The 74th Hunger Games, Katniss and Peeta return to District 12 before going on a Victory Tour of Panem’s other Districts. During the tour, Katniss begins to meet more people on the side of the emerging rebellion. Once the pair returns to the Capital, they participate in the Third Quarter Quell, or the 75th Hunger Games, with the winners of the past 24 Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will hit theaters everywhere on November 21st in IMAX.
