Chris Evans has more than made his mark on pop culture history with his portrayal of Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The character got an excellent sendoff in Avengers: Endgame, but fans have been wondering if Evans will work with the Mouse House once again. Well, it turns out that might be the case, but it would involve Evans taking a trip to a galaxy far, far away.

Insider Daniel Richtman (via We Got This Covered) is reporting that Disney has had informal talks with Chris Evans to appear in an upcoming Star Wars project. Exactly what project that is remains unclear, but we do know that Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige has a Star Wars movie in development. And Evans has even publicly announced that he wants in on the project. Check out his tweet to the news right here:

So news about Chris Evans potentially jumping on board a Star Wars movie is not exactly out of the blue. And considering that Kevin Feige and Evans have a solid working relationship from their time together with the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, it is very likely that this is the project Evans is angling to be in. Not to mention that Evans recently worked with Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson on the whodunit comedy/thriller Knives Out. Suffice to say that the actor has plenty of in-roads to the Star Wars franchise.

The assumption is that this new Star Wars movie would be a theatrical feature film. Disney has publicly announced that its main focus moving forward will be on streaming content, but would an actor like Chris Evans be too big for a movie that went directly to the streaming platform Disney+? It is very likely that this project would be one of the significant returns to the big screen for the Star Wars franchise.

Exactly how prominent this potential Chris Evans role would be or what that role would entail is a mystery at this point. One would assume that nabbing an actor of Evans’ stature would necessitate giving him a lead role in the project. Fans and casual moviegoers alike love seeing Evans at the forefront of these kinds of projects. It would be a shame to waste him on a supporting role that didn’t get enough time in the spotlight.

It will be intriguing to see exactly what comes of this potential rumor. Chris Evans doesn’t have a ton of projects currently lined up, so it is very possible that this Star Wars film could be his next sizable effort. It is almost certain that he won’t be appearing in any future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies since he seems very content with how he left Steve Rogers/Captain America. If he wants to have another notable Disney project under his belt, you can’t get much more notable than Star Wars.

We will simply have to wait and see if Chris Evans would end up in the Star Wars universe. Would he be a hero or a villain? A Jedi or a Sith? Maybe a rogue like Han Solo? As of right now, the possibilities are endless, so get to theorizing!
