Boba Fett Returns: Everything The Mandalorian Just Revealed About Him
Boba Fett is back in the Star Wars universe in a big way.

Boba Fett is back in the biggest way possible. The beloved bounty hunter made a surprise appearance in the Season 2 premiere of The Mandalorian, and fans have been wondering when they would see him again. Thankfully, they did not have to wait long. The most recent episode of the hit Disney+ series gave fans the boba Fett they have been waiting to see ever since he fell into the sarlacc pit almost forty years ago in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.
Before we saw Boba Fett don his iconic armor, we got to see him in the same outfit he appeared in when he popped up at the very end of the Season 2 premiere of The Mandalorian.
This appears to be the tools and clothes Boba Fett has been using for years on Tatooine. While the robes are plain enough, the rifle and large spear/staff that he is carrying looks like they could be some sort of Tusken Raider weapons. And it looks like the badass bounty hunter is well-equipped to use them. We get to see him lay the smackdown on a number of Imperial Stormtroopers with nothing more than his physical prowess.
Boba Fett is teamed up with Fennec Shand, the assassin we saw back in Season 1 when Din Djarin first visited Tatooine. It turns out that Fett rescued Shand from death and replaced her wounded body parts with a cyborg implant. Because of this, Shand now feels indebted to Fett and his sole quest: to retrieve the armor that Din Djarin acquired in the first episode of the season.
Yes, Boba Fett is finally reunited with his quintessential armor and the result is everything Star Wars fans have been wanting.
As soon as Boba Fett has his classic armor and weapons back, The Mandalorian treats fans to a cavalcade of riches. We get to see the bounty hunter take out even more Imperial Stormtroopers, but this time utilizing the unique armaments and tools that he has with his Mandalorian armor.
This includes a traditional blaster rifle, a double-barreled blaster on his left wrist, and even a miniature rocket launcher on his kneepad that fires two small projectiles. And, of course, we get another instance of his jetpack’s rocket in action. We saw Cobb Vanth use the rocket for the first time in the Star Wars film canon back in the Season 2 premiere, but Boba Fett gets to use it here as well, taking down two Imperial dropships with one shot.
Considering that The Mandalorian always felt like it was echoing the popularity of Boba Fett’s design, it is pretty rewarding to see the original Mandalorian step up and deliver some fun sci-fi action moments. But we also learned a little bit more story about the mysterious bounty hunter. After the dust settled, he showed Din Djarin a projection that looked to be his family’s lineage.
Boba Fett also revealed that his father, Jango Fett, fought in the Mandalorian Civil Wars. He also promised Din Djarin that the and Fennec Shand would assist him in retrieving Grogu from the Empire since the deal they made meant that Fett would get his armor and Grogu would be safely returned to Din Djarin. As such, it looks like Boba Fett will be joining Mando as he makes a desperate siege attack on Moff Gideon to save Grogu from the evil clutches of the Empire.
It is pretty fantastic to see The Mandalorian bring in its biggest piece of inspiration, Boba Fett, and make him a key part of this last run of episodes for Season 2. How much more of the legendary bounty hunter will we be seeing in the Star Wars universe? We will have to wait and see what the powers-that-be over at Disney have in store for us.
