Alden Ehrenreich did not exactly set the world of Star Wars on fire when he took on the iconic role of Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story. However, a new rumor says that the young actor is headed back to a galaxy far, far away.

The supposed scoop states that Alden Ehrenreich is being courted by Lucasfilm to appear in a number of different Star Wars shows on Disney+. The future of the Star Wars franchise looks to be more focused on Disney+ series as opposed to traditional theatrical films. There are allegedly up to nine different Star Wars shows being considered for a Disney+ run, including the highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

Which of these series would have a place for Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo? Could he be considered as a headliner for his own series? Han Solo is the kind of character whose exploits have the potential to work in an episodic format. Frankly, that was part of the issue with his feature film; it felt like a bloated episode of a television series instead of a singular cinematic experience.

However, Star Wars has figured out how to work that format to its advantage with The Mandalorian. Could Alden Ehrenreich show up in the third season of The Mandalorian? that would not be our guess. That series takes place after the Galactic Empire has fallen and Han Solo was looking… well, a lot more like Harrison Ford around that point in the Star Wars timeline.

It would make a lot more sense to have Alden Ehrenreich show up in a series that is set before the original Star Wars and after Solo: A Star Wars Story. In that regard, the show that makes the most sense to feature Han Solo would be the rumored Lando Calrissian series. Han and Lando have an established relationship – both from the original trilogy films and Solo: A Star Wars Story – and they are the kinds of characters that would cross each others’ paths from time to time.

But, it is worth noting that the rumor mention Alden Ehrenreich being considered for multiple Star Wars shows. Perhaps there is a chance that Han Solo could turn into the Nick Fury of the Star Wars television universe: making appearances here and there and forming interesting connections across various projects. If there was ever a known character that could function in a similar way, it would be the rogueish adventurer Han Solo.

Alden Ehrenreich almost certainly had multiple sequel options in his contract when he signed on to play Han Solo. Since we are certain there will not be a sequel to Solo: A Star Wars Story, it is worth believing that those sequel options have changed into appearances on potential Disney+ shows. Ehrenreich was not bad in the film, but that movie did not do him a ton of favors as far as building up a great character. Could his appearance on some Disney+ Star Wars shows give him a lot more to work with? We are sure we will find out in the not-too-distant future.
