The train cars are segregated into social caste systems, with the ultra-wealthy utilizing the cars toward the front of the train and the most heavily impoverished languishing in the back of the train.

Under the guidance of a revolutionary leader named Gilliam, Chris Evans‘ Curtis and company lead the rear train car in a revolt against their class oppressors, attempting to push further and further to the front of the train until they can meet with Wilford, the train conductor who owns the entire operation.
The gang makes their way through the Snowpiercer train throughout the movie’s run-time, encountering significant obstacles and harrowing details of life in the upper crust as they move along. I won’t spoil too much of the plot here, but things begin to really get insane at the halfway point of the film, and the tension only continues to ratchet until the climactic finish.
