Sandra Bullock Refuses To See Her Co-Star’s Upcoming Movie For A Racy Reason
Well, that's interesting.
This article is more than 2 years old
Sandra Bullock no doubt likes supporting her co-stars, including their upcoming projects, but there’s at least one of Channing Tatum’s future films that the Miss Congeniality star just won’t be able to bring herself to watch when it hits theaters. In a recent interview, Bullock says she has no interest in seeing the final chapter in Tatum’s popular Magic Mike series, Magic Mike’s Last Dance.
Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock are currently appearing in the action-adventure comedy The Lost City, and it was while promoting the flick that the pair were interviewed on Lorraine. When the subject of Magic Mike comes up, Bullock says not that she won’t see Magic Mike’s Last Dance in spite of working with Tatum, but because of their recent work together. Speaking to both Tatum and the host, Bullock said, “You know what? I loved [Magic Mike] – I loved it a lot, and I loved the second one a lot. I think now that I know him, I don’t know if I’ll be comfortable watching [Magic Mike’s Last Dance].” Addressing Tatum directly, Bullock continued, “It’s going to be weird because you were… someone else when I watched the movies, and now that I know him ‘normally’ – it’s going to be odd watching you do that thing you do.” You can watch that interview below.
Sandra Bullock doesn’t say exactly why watching Magic Mike’s Last Dance would be so much more different than before she was more closely acquainted with Tatum, but considering the more “adult” nature of the semi-autobiographical series about male exotic dancers, it isn’t tough to get the essence of her meaning. Enjoying the more sexual side of Tatum’s performance may be far too awkward now.
Bullock’s feelings on the matter are understandable though, from a certain point of view, a little surprising. After all, it isn’t like Sandra Bullock hasn’t already gotten to see plenty of her The Lost City co-star. In particular, she’s talked about having to remove fake leeches from Tatum’s butt, in a scene in which Tatum was completely in the buff.
This isn’t the first time Sandra Bullock has brought up the subject of Magic Mike’s Last Dance in an interview. Back in November at the premiere of The Unforgivable, Bullock joked that — just for Tatum’s sake — she couldn’t possibly join the cast of the threequel. “[Tatum’s] doing a lot of asking for me to come on board with my skills in the stripping world, which they’re world-renowned,” the star joked “I don’t know if I wanna do it and take the attention away. Channing needs that moment, and if I step on that stage, you know what’s gonna happen, it’s like, all eyes are gonna be on this. It’s all gonna be on mama. Not really, but in my world, that’s what would happen. All eyes would just shift off of Channing and onto me.”
So Sandra Bullock won’t be in Magic Mike’s Last Dance and she won’t be appearing in it, but in the meantime she’s still appearing with Tatum and Daniel Radcliffe in The Lost City. Bullock plays Loretta, a romance author who goes on a book tour with her less-than-brainy cover model Alan (Tatum). Radcliffe plays the wealthy Abigail Fairfax who, convinced Loretta knows the location of a lost city filled with riches, kidnaps the author in hopes of getting the info from her.
