It’s hard to imagine that Quentin Tarantino is going to stop making movies. It’s even harder to imagine a Tarantino movie without his long-time collaborator, Samuel L Jackson. That was easily one of the biggest letdowns of Once Upon a Time In Hollywood. Although the film was fantastic for its own reasons, it was truly odd to not see Sammy J squarely in the story at some point in the movie. Jackson was recently interviewed about potentially being in Tarantino’s last film. According to the actor, “I don’t know. He’ll tell me or he won’t tell me. I didn’t hear from him at all when he did the Hollywood movie. Usually, he’ll call me and say he’s doing something and ask how I feel about it.”

We would honestly say that it is a bit odd that Tarantino left out Samuel L Jackson from his last film, but sometimes things work out in that manner. Jackson added, “Like when he did the Nazi movie, he was like, ‘There’s nothing for you in this.’ I can learn how to speak French. ‘No, I’m having a French guy.’ So I did the voice-over about celluloid and the movies.” A movie about WWII and the Nazi regime certainly would have been odd with Jackson appearing in it, but then again, it’s hard to imagine the man not being in a Tarantino film.

Quentin Tarantino has long stated that he was going to quit making movies after his 10th. His ninth happened to be Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, so everyone is patiently waiting to see what the man’s final film will be. He has stated that it could be Kill Bill 3, his long-discussed Star Trek film, or some other twisted idea he has had in his head for some time. Either way, we are excited to see which direction he goes in. Clearly, Samuel L Jackson is just waiting to find out if he will be in this supposed final film. Tarantino has rewritten history in both Inglorious Basterds and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, so we wonder if he will go that route once again. Jackson was fantastic in The Hateful Eight, so we would love to see him appear in another period piece. However, we understand him not appearing in a film about Nazis.

For some odd reason, Quentin Tarantino thinks that if he goes past 10 films, his legacy will somehow be tarnished. The man has only made nine films, and they have all been amazing. Some more amazing than others, but he is one of the most spectacular filmmakers in the world. He has this odd complex that he will somehow fade into obscurity if he keeps going. We hope that he might return to filmmaking at some point and that he continues to work with Samuel L Jackson later down the line.

For now, Samuel L Jackson is going to be appearing in Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, which is an animated film that blends animals and martial arts. Jackson plays the part of a legendary samurai cat named Jimbo. He is also going to reprise his role as Nick Fury for the Disney+ series, Secret Invasion. He is also reprising that same role for The Marvels, which is set for a 2023 release. Whatever happens with Quentin Tarantino, we hope he considers putting Jackson in his final film. It’s just the right thing to do.
