Earlier today, Netflix unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming film, The Adam Project. Ramping up their tremendous year of content creation, the sci-fi drama is being staged by the streaming behemoth as the next E.T. While viewers will still have to wait a few more weeks before streaming the upcoming movie, the new trailer teases at what looks to be another hit for Netflix as Ryan Reynolds brings his quippy banter to the forefront as he meets and bonds with…himself.

Ryan Reynolds shines in all his glory throughout the nearly three-minute-long trailer. “You’ve always said that you wish you’d met me earlier. Here I am,” Reynolds said to co-star Zoe Saldana during a dicey vehicle escape scene as his character’s girlfriend meets his former, and much younger, self in the back seat. The new trailer does well to showcase the many genres featured in the movie. From hilarious conversations bonding with his younger self to showcasing impressive fighting skills that might trump the superhero trope, The Adam Project looks to have the complete making of a blockbuster hit. The trailer even did well to tie in the popular multiverse aspect, as Reynolds grunts at his child-self, “It’s not a multiverse. My god, we watch too many movies.”
While fans wait for Stranger Things’ fourth season to drop on Netflix, fans can get a taste of the beloved 80’s nostalgia via The Adam Project. The film is being helmed by Shawn Levy, the man who not-so-coincidentally also directs Stranger Things. Levy has previously worked with Ryan Reynolds when he directed and produced 2021 hit Reynolds film Free Guy. And even though the new trailer still does little to inform us on what the plot actually is for the new film, the preview depicts a classic 80’s sci-fi feel complete with time travel and an alien invasion.
The Adam Project will follow Ryan Reynolds as a time-traveling pilot who teams up with his younger self and his late father in order to save the future. And as the new trailer calls the film something that would make the king of Sci-fi, Steven Speilberg, proud- the film looks to bank heavily on nostalgia. The film is directed by Shawn Levy of Stranger Things and will star plenty of Marvel faces, including Ryan Reynolds, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, and Zoe Saldana. The film will also feature Walker Scobell and Catherine Keener.
The upcoming film will be the third movie from Netflix starring Ryan Reynolds. Recently, Reynold starred alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Gal Gadot in Netflix’s action-comedy The Red Notice. The film received mixed reviews, however, Reynolds’ performance and familiar comic tones were widely praised. Other than the impending March 11th release of The Adam Project to Netlfix, Reynolds is rumored to be reprising his role as Deadpool soon. The long-awaited project will be the third in the franchise and will see Reynolds once again reprise his infamous portrayal of the beloved Merc with a mouth. At the end of 2022, fans can check out Reynolds’s portrayal of Ebeneezer Scrooge in a musical rendition of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Story. Titled Spirited, the Apple TV project will also star Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer.
