Ryan Reynolds Reveals The Forgotten Favorite He’d Love To Work On Again
Although it’s been a minute since the series wrapped, Ryan Reynolds says he would definitely be open to returning for a new project.
Ryan Reynolds is one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, headlining some of the biggest blockbusters (Deadpool) and record-breaking movies (Red Notice) in recent years. With his next movie, The Adam Project, set for release on March 11th, the actor’s career isn’t slowing down any time soon. However, before he became a household name, the 45-year-old’s big break came when he landed a lead role in Two Guys, A Girl, and a Pizza Place.
Although it’s been a minute since the series wrapped, Ryan Reynolds says he would definitely be open to returning for a Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place reunion. In an interview with Inverse, the Free Guy star said, “I would do that in a heartbeat. That was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had in my life. Truly, I mean it. I loved every second of it,” the actor told the publication. Speaking fondly about his time on the relatively short-lived sitcom, Ryan Reynolds said he loved the cast desperately and still keeps in touch with his former co-stars. “Even yesterday I spoke with Nathan Fillion and Traylor Howard,” the Deadpool actor said. While there are currently no official plans for a Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place reunion or revival, he remains hopeful at the possibility.
Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place (later referred to as Two Guys and a Girl) ran for four seasons on ABC from 1998 to 2001. It followed the daily exploits of three twenty-somethings who shared an apartment in Boston and worked at a local pizzeria. Ryan Reynolds starred as Michael “Berg” Bergen opposite co-stars Richard Ruccolo and Traylor Howard. The second season saw the arrival of two additional recurring characters played by Nathan Fillion and Suzanne Cryer.
Plans for a Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place reunion/revival is still pretty much a pipedream for now. But Ryan Reynolds fans can look forward to seeing the star in The Adam Project later this week. The film is directed by Shawn Levy from a script by Jonathan Tropper, T.S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett, and Mark Levin.
Netflix’s sci-fi time-traveling thriller features a stellar cast. Starring alongside Ryan Reynolds as Adam Reed is Walker Scobell as a young Adam Reed, Mark Ruffalo as Louis Reed, and Jennifer Garner as Ellie Reed. The movie also includes Catherine Keener as Maya Sorian, Zoe Saldaña as Laura, and Alex Mallari Jr. as Christos.
The Adam Project begins when time-traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed (Ryan Reynolds) accidentally crash-lands in 2022. Once there, he teams up with the 12-year-old version of himself on a mission to save the future from completely collapsing on itself. The movie hits Netflix this Friday, March 11th.
Meanwhile, Ryan Reynolds is also hard at work on Deadpool 3. While the actor remained rather secretive about the project when speaking to Collider, he assured fans that loads of information about the movie will be revealed soon. Updates over the past couple of years have mostly been the same, promising more information when they have it. He has said that they’re working hard on getting the script right and won’t move forward until then, so it’s a good sign that they’re being slow about it. Reynolds is set to reprise his role as the foul-mouthed mercenary for the film.
