Ryan Reynolds Bringing A Major Marvel Actor Into Deadpool 3?
Jeff Sneider has leaked news that Ryan Reynolds will be joined in Deadpool 3 by Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson from Loki.
Deadpool 3 is one of the most-anticipated and mysterious projects in the upcoming MCU lineup. Thus, any bit of news about the project is inevitably going to fire up the fans. The latest rumor says that Ryan Reynolds might bring some characters from Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series to the MCU’s first R-Rated film.
According to this rumor, Deadpool would specifically cross paths with Owen Wilson’s character Agen Moebius and Tara Strong’s character Miss Minutes; taking a look at IMDb, there’s even more of the cast that might appear. Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool will be crossing paths with the TVA in the film, which could mean we may even get an appearance from Tom Hiddleston himself. If time travel is a major part of the story, this would be a great way to connect the Deadpool franchise to the greater MCU.
It’s worth remembering that Hugh Jackman, who is returning as Wolverine, has already indicated that time travel could be involved. When fans were worried about Deadpool 3 messing up his satisfying ending from Logan, Jackman assured them that all would be good thanks to the multiverse and time-traveling potential of the MCU. Of course, time travel means the TVA gets involved, which means we may soon see Ryan Reynolds sharing the screen with Owen Wilson, Tom Hiddleston, and the other major Loki players.
This would also seemingly play into previous rumors that Ryan Reynolds Deadpool 3 will directly lead into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and set Tom Hiddleston’s Loki up as Kang’s primary foe. This would make sense, considering Jonathan Majors was first introduced as He Who Remains, aka a Kang variant in the Loki series. Due to the meddling of Loki and Sylvie, He Who Remains no longer controlled the timelines, and the other Kang variants were no longer blocked off to their particular corner of the multiverse.
While He Who Remains was a semi-benevolent Kang variant, we met a much eviler version of the character in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. With all the variants of Kang potentially running around in the MCU, there’s always the possibility that Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool could go up against another Kang variant and new Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to help take him down. This would be an easy way to lead into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and cement Deadpool as an official part of the MCU.
Before we see Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3, we’ll see Tom Hiddleston return as in the second season of Loki. When we last saw Loki, the TVA had seemingly been taken over by Kang after he and Sylvie (pretty much just Sylvie) took out He Who Remains. The second season of Loki will likely be one of the most important upcoming MCU projects, as we should be delving more into the TVA and Kang’s impact.
While we know we’ll see Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3 on November 8, 2024, there’s no official release date yet for Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. Supposedly, it’s still coming out in 2023. We’ll keep you updated on this and all other MCU news.
