Ryan Reynolds Is Killing Deadpool?
In a recent interview on The Jess Cagle Show, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy talks about the upcoming Ryan Reynolds starring movie in detail. One of the topics of discussion was how any altercations between Deadpool and Wolverine will play out on the big screen. During this discussion, Levy, without going into too much detail, stated that Ryan Reynolds really wants to see Deadpool lose the upper-hand, and not always be victorious with his conflicts.
Ryan Reynolds Seems Ready To Lose And Possibly Die In Deadpool 3
We all know by now that stars like Dwayne Johnson have clauses in their contracts that don’t allow their characters to lose, and that they have to be victorious no matter what. But Ryan Reynolds is cut from a different cloth, and really wants to get beat down in Deadpool 3 if it makes for better storytelling. Though Deadpool and Wolverine are allies, their clashing personalities allow them to throw hands every once in a while.
But whenever there’s a fight, somebody has to win, and somebody has to lose.
Ryan Reynolds Is Ok With Losing To His Bestie, Hugh Jackman
Shawn Levy explained that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are good friends who have an infinite amount of respect for each other. He asserted that Reynolds, who also helped write the screenplay for Deadpool 3 is “amazing at wanting Deadpool to lose.” Reynolds is also aware of how great of an opportunity it is to co-star with Jackman, and really wants to let Wolverine have his moment in the spotlight.
Who Wouldn’t Want To See Wolverine Beat Deadpool To A Bloody Pulp?
And when you think of the overall storytelling in the Deadpool movies, it makes sense that Ryan Reynolds is totally on board with getting thrashed by his co-star in Deadpool 3. One of the reasons we love Deadpool so much is because of his foul-mouthed wise-crackery, and we can’t think of a better way to generate a healthy amount of inspired dialogue than our favorite anti-hero getting slashed to bits by Wolverine, and having to go through an incredibly painful, yet hilarious healing process.
Hollywood Strikes Halt Deadpool 3 Production
Though it seems like Deadpool 3 is going to be one heck of a film that’s full of highly-choreographed action sequences and humor, we are going to have to wait for the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike to come to a resolution. Before the strike commenced, about half of the upcoming movie had been filmed and edited, but production was suspended back in July because of the strike. So if Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool is going to get epically whooped by Wolverine, we won’t be able to see this play out for quite some time.
Deadpool 3 was originally slated for a May 2024 release, but given the current production delays, it’s likely that we won’t see Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman going at it until a later date that has yet to be confirmed.
Deadpool 3 Is Slated To Be A Blockbuster Hit
Though it’s been made clear that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will ultimately end up throwing hands (and Adamantium-infused claws) in Deadpool 3, we’re wondering what kind of inappropriate zingers we’ll hear come out of Deadpool’s mouth as the two titans duke it out. We can’t say with certainty that Deadpool will actually get killed, but we know that this movie will make a killing at the box office when it finally gets a proper release.
