Ryan Reynolds Thinks His Deadpool 3 Co-Star Is The Most Interesting Actor In Hollywood
Ryan Reynolds thinks Matthew Mcfayden is the most interesting actor in Hollywood.
With Deadpool 3 expected to enter active production in the very near future, Ryan Reynolds has begun to tease the public regarding what we can expect from the Merc With The Mouth on his upcoming journey. Last year the actor revealed a number of humorous videos via YouTube, teasing the upcoming return of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine for the film while also teasing whether or not the newly Disney-owned property would factor into the existing timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now according to a write-up in Comicbook.com, Ryan Reynolds has expressed adoration for another Deadpool 3 co-star, stating, “I think Matthew Macfayden is probably one of the most interesting actors working today.”
Matthew Mcfayden is likely best known for his leading role on the HBO hit series Succession, which is currently in the throes of its fourth and final season. After spending four years weaving in and out of the social politics of the Roy family and the Waystar Roy company, taking on the regenerative degenerate Deadpool should feel like a walk in the park. Ryan Reynolds seems to be half joking about his apprehension of working alongside Mcfayden, though his adoration for the actor is all too real.
Ryan Reynolds remained tight-lipped regarding the role Matthew Mcfayden would be playing in the upcoming film, though he went on to state that Mcfayden’s role as Tom Wambsgans would serve as something of a roadmap for the character, expressing interest in his ability to blur the lines of good and evil in a highly political environment. Given the themes and concepts at play in previous Deadpool films, such as the role of a hero in modern society, and the burden that revenge can have on one’s soul, it seems that Mcfayden’s nuanced performance will be a useful addition to the team.
With heavy hitters such as Matthew Mcfayden and Hugh Jackman joining the cast of Deadpool 3, the film seems destined for greatness, leaving fans buzzing with excitement for announcements that lend any new information. This is despite recent underperforming films within the MCU, such as Thor: Love and Thunder and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which seemed to drive home recent reports of superhero fatigue amongst modern audiences. Disney has also recently announced restrictions on both Marvel and Star Wars’ budgets, likely restricting the studios to fewer annual outings.
Though Marvel is tightening the leash on many of its upcoming features and Disney+ series, fans have very high hopes for Deadpool 3, as Ryan Reynolds has worked tirelessly to bring the character to the big screen with the integrity and authenticity of Marvel’s biggest comic fans. Deadpool 3 is set to be directed by Shawn Levy, who previously helmed 10 episodes of Stranger Things and the Ryan Reynolds-led Free Guy, with Bob’s Burgers‘ Wendy Molyneaux and Lizzie Molyneaux-Loeglin attached to write the script.
For now, there’s no way to know exactly what fans can expect from the third film in the Deadpool trilogy. As Ryan Reynolds continues to tease further content through his media appearances, all we can do is sit tight and hope for the best. Of course, his respect and admiration for his co-stars certainly paints an optimistic picture of the chemistry we’ll be getting on screen.
