Starring in the highest-grossing movie of 2023 is bound to open various doors and gates, and according to Deadline, both Gosling and Robbie are set to reunite once again in an upcoming Ocean’s 11 prequel that’s currently in development.
Both Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie have reportedly joined the Ocean’s 11 prequel film production.
The news came via the film’s producer, Josey McNamara, who hasn’t disclosed any further information about the project except the fact that both Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie work wonderfully together and that the production team is trying to do right by the Ocean’s 11 franchise.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the Barbie duo being attached to the new Ocean’s 11 prequel; various reports last year suggested the actors’ involvement in the project.

Margot Robbie was first attached to the prequel in May 2022, and reports suggesting Ryan Gosling’s involvement surfaced a few months later, shortly after both of them finished filming Barbie.
Barbie is so far the highest-grossing movie of the year, making over $1.4 billion at the worldwide box office since its debut in July. We can only hope they do the same with the Ocean’s 11 prequel movie.

Considering that Gosling and Robbie’s combined star power is now worth at least $1.4 billion at the box office, it’s not surprising to see Warner Bros employing both actors in an attempt to replicate Barbie‘s success.
All plot details for the Ocean’s 11 prequel are currently under wraps, but the story will apparently unfold in Europe during the 1960s. The film is reportedly an original addition to the Ocean’s 11 franchise, which started with 2001’s Ocean’s 11 feature film based on the 1960 Rat Pac pic.
It starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts, and it turned out to be a massive success, making over $450 million on a $85 million budget. Needless to say, its success gave birth to an entire franchise, which is now adding both Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie to its cast.
The 2001 film Ocean’s 11 was a remake of the 1960 film starring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
The original film was followed by a sequel, called Ocean’s Twelve in 2004 and then Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007. In 2018 came the all-female spin-off Ocean’s 8, starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Awkafina, Helena Bonham Carter and Rihanna.
