Ryan Gosling has a star that has been on the steady rise since he made a splash in the Nicolas Sparks film adaptation of his novel, The Notebook. Since then, he has appeared in everything from comedies like The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe, science fiction films like Blade Runner 2049 with Harrison Ford, and action films like The Gray Man with Chris Evans. Now he has teamed up with David Leitch who is an actor and director known for Deadpool 2Atomic Blonde, and Bullet Train. The film they are slated to work on together is the action remake of the classic TV series, The Fall Guy. While they already had star power both in front of and behind the camera, the production has now added another big name as Emily Blunt has now signed on as the female lead.

Deadline reports that the trio is coming together to film The Fall Guy for the March 1, 2024, release. The original series followed Colt Seavers, played by Lee Majors, as a Hollywood stuntman moonlighting as a bounty hunter. He is often joined by fellow stuntpeople, Howie “Kid” Munson and Jody Banks. While Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt are the only actors to be announced, it is almost certain they will be playing Seavers and Banks. Two things we don’t know yet that need answered asap, will Ryan Gosling sport the signature cowboy hat and drive the big GMC for his stunts?

Ryan Gosling is one of the most sought-after names in Hollywood right now as he is still enjoying the success of his Netflix film, The Gray Man, which saw him team with MCU veterans The Russo Brothers and Chris Evans. While it only scored an abysmal 46% on Rotten Tomatoes with critics, fans disagreed and gave it a 91%. This was enough for Netflix to greenlight not only a sequel but a spinoff series as well. Gosling isn’t just reeling from that success; he is also slated to star alongside Margot Robbie in the upcoming Barbie movie. Emily Blunt is also enjoying a fair amount of success.

While she was last seen alongside Dwayne Johnson in Jungle Cruise, she has a bevy of upcoming projects that fans should be excited about. On top of her project with Ryan Gosling, she has wrapped her filming for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, which has her alongside seemingly every big name imaginable with Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., Matt Damon, Gary Oldman, Kenneth Branagh, and Remi Malek. She is also starring in an Amazon Prime series, The English, a revenge story from the 1800s. And Pain Hustlers alongside Chris Evans.

While The Fall Guy may be a relatively forgotten series from the 70s by today’s audiences, the film looks to be huge. The dream team of Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, and David Leitch, behind the camera, look for this film to be as big as The Gray Man, as outlandish as Bullet Train, and as fun as Jungle Cruise. If you want high-flying stunts and action, a bounty hunter/stuntman is bound to deliver.
