Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Star Wars Future In Major Doubt?
Fans of the Rosario Dawson starring Ahsoka are wondering what her fate will be after the conclusion of last week’s episode, entitled “Part Four: Fallen Jedi.” Dawson, who plays the titular character in the show, was left with an uncertain future after last week’s episode (described as “emotional” by the episode’s director via IGN), which aired on Disney+ on September 5.
If you’re a couple of episodes behind, or simply haven’t started watching the series yet, we urge you to read with caution because the following paragraphs will contain spoilers.
In “Part Four: Fallen Jedi,” Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka plummets into the ocean after a lengthy duel with Baylan Skoll, and she’s not sure whether she’s alive or dead. Though her consciousness is very much alive, we’re not sure whether her arrival to the World Between Worlds, which she has been to before, is a manifestation of her imagination, or actually physically taking place in the collection of pathways and doors between time and space.
It’s safe to say that Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano may possibly be spending some amount time in the World Between Worlds from this point forward.
But the real twist that everybody’s talking about involves the unexpected appearance of a de-aged Hayden Christensen taking on the role of Anakin Skywalker, who greets Ahsoka with “hello, snips,” which is a callback to a nickname he gave her in The Clone Wars.
This emotional reunion between Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker and Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka has been described as resembling a reunion between an estranged father and daughter who are seeing each other for the first time after a considerable amount of time apart. Given their complicated past that was highlighted in the animated Star Wars: Rebels series, Anakin’s appearance took many of us by surprise.
Is Ahsoka Tano alive or dead? We’re not quite sure after the conclusion of Ahsoka‘s fourth episode.
An important thing to consider is what version of Anakin Skywalker we’re witnessing, however. The Anakin Skywalker that Ahsoka brought us, to the best of our knowledge has yet to be corrupted. In other words, we’re seeing the Anakin that we knew before the events in Revenge of the Sith occurred, meaning that Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka would most certainly be caught off guard by seeing a past version of her former Jedi master.
As for what happens next, your guess is as good as ours. But for the time being, it’s probably in your best interest to catch up on your World Between Worlds lore from the animated series that we’re seeing take place in Ahsoka.
We’re not sure whether her arrival to the World Between Worlds, which she has been to before, is a manifestation of her imagination, or actually physically taking place in the collection of pathways and doors between time and space.
It’s safe to say that Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano may possibly be spending some amount time in this realm from this point forward. But what we’re really curious about is how Ahsoka will continue to interact with Anakin in future episodes.
Episode five of the Dave Filoni written series will premiere tonight on Disney+, and we’ll just have to wait and see how everything plays out. Hopefully, Anakin’s appearance isn’t just a ruse meant to complicate matters, and that we’re truly seeing a heartfelt moment between a former Jedi master and his former apprentice.
Given the chemistry between Rosario Dawson and Hayden Christensen, we hope that this story line between Anakin and Ahsoka will continue between now and the series’ conclusion on October 3 2023.
