Robert Downey Jr.’s New Look Has Fans Casting Him As DC’s Best Villain

Robert Downey Jr. was recently shown in public with a brand-new hairdo. Well, that’s to say he is sporting a new loss of hairdo, as the man is now completely bald. The bald former Iron Man actor is now being called on to be cast in the most infamous
DC role: Lex Luthor.
There have been plenty of actors who have made the jump from DC to Marvel and vice versa, so it wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility for Robert Downey Jr. to make his way into the DC Cinematic Universe as Lex Luthor. Quite frankly, if the man were to be cast as Lex Luthor, it would mean that he is likely to pair with Henry Cavill’s Superman, which would be astounding.
We would all like to forget about the Jesse Eisenberg version of Lex Luthor from the Snyderverse as well, so it would be great to bring in an actor with the pedigree that Robert Downey Jr. possesses. No offense to Mr. Eisenberg, but that version is just something that didn’t strike fear into audiences, and RDJ would certainly be someone who could bring a new level of DC’s biggest mastermind villain.
The DC Cinematic Universe is going through a bit of a big shuffle as well, as co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran are currently putting together a plan for DC that will add some much-needed longevity to the franchise. This plan could involve Henry Cavill as Superman and Robert Downey Jr. as the future Lex Luthor, one who will torment the DC Cinematic Universe for years. However, this is just wild speculation, as we would imagine that RDJ is not willing to sign on for another huge slate of movies as a superhero or villain.
Robert Downey Jr. left behind the mantle of Iron Man back in 2019 when Avengers: Endgame came out and Tony Stark gave his life to save all his friends and the world. RDJ has since kept busy with many other projects which include movies, podcasts, and writing books. While DC fans would certainly be ecstatic about the man joining the DC world, we doubt that it would happen.
We also don’t want to strike down all hope, as James Gunn could come out of nowhere and drop a proverbial bomb about Robert Downey Jr. joining the DC side of things. RDJ has taken quite a long time away from the superhero genre, so maybe he is finally getting the itch to want to come back. Based on the above image of his bald head, he could certainly pull off the look quite well.
Robert Downey Jr. is currently busy with his many projects and is said to be continuing his Sherlock Holmes franchise, so it would likely take some time for him to have the time to dedicate to another franchise. However, we would certainly vote for the man to be included in the DC universe as Lex Luthor, as a good DC villain is certainly needed right now. Make it happen, Mr. Gunn.
