At long last, the world has been given the release date of Rick & Morty Season 6. Co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon often take their time when it comes to releasing episodes of everyone’s favorite Adult Swim series, but they have certainly signed on to deliver much more content for Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty. Back in May of 2018, the co-creators sign a deal to deliver 70 additional episodes across an unspecified number of seasons for Adult Swim. This new season will be dropping everywhere on September 4th at 11 PM ET/PT. The announcement also came with a hilarious image of the guys sporting some muscles. You can see the announcement below:

We are not sure why Rick & Morty are sporting six packs, but does it ever matter? They usually have some cosmic retrospective take on why they do anything in the crazy worlds they enter, including their own. The great thing is that the world does not have to wait so long in between seasons. The fifth season of the series had just wrapped up in September of last year, meaning a year was all we had to wait to see a brand-new slate of episodes. If we can continue to get new episodes on a yearly basis, that would be great.

President of Adult Swim and Cartoon Network, Michael Ouweleen, commented on the excitement that the network feels for having Rick & Morty return. According to Oeweleen, “It’s hard to overstate the impact of Rick and Morty. [It’s] More than a hit show, it is truly a global phenomenon.” That is certainly true, as the series has been viewed a staggering 10 billion times according to the network. Oueweleen has also hinted that this new season is going to involve fans in a special way so we must all, “keep our eyes peeled.” Adult Swim has always been rather inventive in how they present their content. There has been an annual Adult Swim Festival that has happened for the past few years running. Also, there have been Rick & Morty pop-up shops that have also gone on tour throughout the U.S. We hope to see another one of those in the future.

Rick & Morty stars Justin Roiland, Sarah Chalke, Chris Parnell, and Spencer Grammer. Roiland is not only the creator and executive producer of the series, but he also does both the voice duties for Rick & Morty. Well, he handles voice duties for a ton of other characters, but he handles the main characters as well. That is certainly some talent. The show first aired on Adult Swim in 2013 and has since become a monster of a television show. Between the merch, show, and everything else that holds the brand name, the series has become the most popular show on Adult Swim and in the entire world. We are more than excited to see what happens next.

Rick & Morty Season 6 will officially premiere on September 4th, and fans can tune in on Adult Swim to see their favorite scientist jerk around his family, as he constantly gets them into easily fixable situations. Well, maybe things are exactly that fixable. Unless you want things done with some psycho Mr. Meseeks at your disposal.
