Rick And Morty Finally Brings Back Best Recurring Character
The premiere of Rick and Morty Season 7 is tomorrow (October 15, 2023), and fans are excited after a short sneak peek of the first episode of the new season was posted by the official Rick and Morty page on X. To the elation of many, the preview dropped hints about the beloved Mr. Poopybutthole making his return to the show.
Rick and Morty Season 7 debuts with “How Poopy Got His Poop Back,” promising an episode centered on Mr. Poopybutthole.
The name of the first episode is “How Poopy Got His Poop Back,” hinting that we may get the chance to see the character make some headway in his life. The posted preview informs viewers that Mr. Poopybutthole has been living with the Smiths since his life went to “poop” after being shot by Beth in Rick and Morty Season 2, Episode 4, “Total Rickall.”
If you’re in need of a refresher, “Total Rickall” is the episode where aliens have invaded, and anyone who stirs up positive memories within the minds of the Smiths must be shot. Even the family’s refrigerator went through a rugged screening session.
In Rick and Morty, Mr. Poopybutthole is a long-time friend of the Smiths from another dimension who came to help them handle the fallout of the alien parasite invasion. He is shown through memories to be a trustworthy pal of the family and even apologizes for not giving them any bad memories along the way.
Mr. Poopybutthole is mistakenly shot by Beth because she realizes that she has only fond memories of him floating around in that mind of hers. While sitting happily at the family’s dinner table, eating steak, Beth suddenly squints her eyes and, without warning, shoots Mr. Poopybutthole right in the chest, projecting his body into a wall across the room.
At the end of the episode, the character is shown recuperating from his injuries. Since being shot, he has made a handful of brief appearances on the show. However, the new preview suggests we may get a bigger dose of Mr. Poopybutthole in the new season of Rick and Morty.
As the seventh season of Rick and Morty begins, it’s only fair that fans are beginning to wonder if they should start worrying about the show ending.
After being shot, the clip shared on the show’s social media page explains that he was fired from his job, his wife left him, he broke both of his legs, and he even failed the Bar exam. It seems Mr. Poopybutthole has hit rock bottom.
Though Beth has already apologized for shooting him, it seems he still holds a bit of spite regarding his injury. Hopefully, Mr. Poopybutthole will begin getting his life back in order in the new season of Rick and Morty.
As the seventh season of Rick and Morty begins, it’s only fair that fans are beginning to wonder if they should start worrying about the show ending. The show has been greenlit for 100 episodes, and the beginning of the new season will start with episode 62.
Rick and Morty has an enormous roster of recurring characters, from Mr.Poopybutthole to Jessica and Mr. Meeseeks.
However, there is no reason to think the show won’t be renewed once it hits the current cap. Rick and Morty has an astounding 92 percent positive rating overall on Rotten Tomatoes, providing proof of the show’s popularity with audiences.
Tune in and find out what happens with Mr. Poopybutthole tomorrow night at 11 PM EST on Cartoon Network. All other episodes of the first six seasons of the show are available for streaming on Hulu.
