Rhea Seehorn Joins Will Smith In Bad Boys 4
Rhea Seehorn will be part of Will Smith's Bad Boys 4 in an undisclosed role.
The fourth installment of the Bad Boys movie franchise, Bad Boys 4, is officially in development, and its got a surprising new cast member. Better Call Saul actress Rhea Seehorn will be joining the main Bad Boys stars, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, according to Deadline. While we don’t know what her role will be or what the plot of the film will entail, we are excited about yet another Bad Boys movie.
With three films under the franchise’s belt—Bad Boys (1995), Bad Boys II (2003), and Bad Boys for Life (2020)—it has grossed nearly $1 billion dollars over the past 28 years. The third Bad Boys film grossed nearly half of that revenue when it was released, becoming one of the highest-grossing January releases of all time. Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith, and Doug Belgrad, who all produced Bad Boys for Life, are all back to produce Bad Boys 4, along with executive producers Martin Lawrence, James Lassiter, Chad Oman, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman, and Jon Mone.
Rhea Seehorn will be joining a great cast of characters who have been entertaining audiences for nearly three decades. The buddy cop action films have become comedy classics for many fans who love the chemistry between Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, the R-rated comedy, and the badass soundtracks.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have always starred as the Bad Boys detectives in the Miami Police Department and have been joined by actor Joe Pantoliano and actress Theresa Randle in all three films. While we are not sure if Joe Pantoliano and Theresa Randle will reprise their roles in Bad Boys 4, we do know that Alexander Ludwig, Vanessa Hudgens, Eric Dane, and Ioan Gruffudd will join Rhea Seehorn in the star-studded cast.
Bad Boys 4 will mark the first time Rhea Seehorn and Will Smith have worked together on a project, so it will be interesting to see what sort of chemistry they have with one another. Rhea Seehorn has mostly only worked in television and is best known for her recurring role of Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul. Recently, the actress has received great recognition for her work by receiving a Hollywood Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Broadcast Network or Cable Series Drama, and a Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television among several other awards.
Despite the dramatic Oscar slap last year, Will Smith has been very busy with work. After starring as Peter in 2022’s action thriller Emancipation, he started working on several acting projects that include The Council, Fast and Loose, and a remake of the classic heartwarming comedy Planes, Trains & Automobiles. In addition, he is helping to produce a staggering 15 projects that range all the way from Hancock 2 to an animated fantasy film called Onyeka and the Academy of the Sun.
If you’re in Atlanta, Georgia, keep your eye out for Rhea Seehorn and Will Smith while they’re filming scenes for Bad Boys 4. Otherwise, get ready for the new movie to hit theaters sometime in 2024.
