Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise were married from 1990 to 2001, and during that time, they two adopted two children: Isabella Jane Cruise and Connor Anthony Cruise. While it seems that both mostly stay out of the public spotlight, their daughter – who goes by Bella Kidman Cruise – has occasionally shared rare photos of herself on her Instagram.

Isabella Jane Cruise, aka Bella Kidman Cruise, is now 29 years old and an artist who sells prints, tote bags, T-shirts, and other pieces featuring her art on her website. Her Instagram is usually used to show off her art, and not her own face.
ISABELLA JANE KIDMAN IS ADOPTED
Isabella Jane was given up by her mother at birth. Her biological mom was a member of the Church of Scientology and the official reason for her giving the child to Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman involved her being financially unable to provide for her child.
Bella was adopted shortly after Nicole Kidman had a miscarriage, which suggests the famous couple was looking for something to fill a hole in their life. Enter Isabella Jane Cruise.
ISABELLA JANE CRUISE IS A SCIENTOLOGIST AND DOESN’T FEEL AMERICAN
According to an interview with Nicole Kidman for Vanity Fair from 2019, Isabella Jane Cruise lives outside London with her husband Max Parker. Like her father, Bella Kidman Cruise practices Scientology.
Nicole Kidman says that Isabella Jane Cruise “feels more English,” mentioning that Kidman and Cruise lived overseas while filming Eyes Wide Shut, Mission: Impossible, and The Portrait of a Lady in the 90s.
Meanwhile, Kidman’s son Connor lives in Miami, works in the music industry, and also practices Scientology. Kidman said of her two children with Cruise, “They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.”

Bella’s husband Max Parker is an IT professional. They had a full-on Scientologist wedding when they said their vows back in 2015. The wedding took place at the Dorchester Hotel in London, England.
Neither Tom Cruise nor Nicole Kidman were present at her wedding. Tom Cruise is believed to have paid for it, however, and his stated reason for not attending was his work schedule. Nicole was actually in London at the time, but still did not attend.
Max Parker’s parents also did not attend, citing a desire to avoid public scrutiny as their reason.
Though their nuptials were performed by this group, unlike his wife Isabella Jane Cruise, Max Parker is not a Scientologist. This apparently has been a point of contention with Tom Cruise in the past and put them at odds.
SHE HAS DEALT WITH EXTENSIVE PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAUMA
Things haven’t been easy for Isabella Jane Cruise. Even in childhood, she struggled with depression and anxiety. Being only 9 years old when her adopted parents separated didn’t help matters.
While she maintains a relationship with Tom Cruise, these days, Bella doesn’t talk about her relationship with her adopted mother much. That doesn’t mean they aren’t on speaking terms, however.
Nicole Kidman was labeled a “suppressive person” by the Church of Scientology when she refused to join. Normally, Scientologists have no association with anyone given such a label. That’s not true of Isabella Jane Cruise and her mother, however.
When asked if she keeps in touch with her parents by the Daily Mail, Bella Kidman Cruise had this simple statement: “Of course [we talk], they’re my parents.”

After splitting with Tom Cruise in 2001, Nicole Kidman married Keith Urban in 2006. The couple had their first daughter, Sunday Rose, in 2008, and their second daughter, Faith Margaret, in 2010.
Kidman was asked about her relationship with Isabella Jane Cruise and her adopted children with Cruise in 2018, to which she said “I’m very private about all that,” followed by stating, “I know 150% that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”
Nicole Kidman said that her breakup with Cruise made her focus on her job, which led to some of the biggest successes of her career, including winning an Oscar for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in 2002’s The Hours.
Since her divorce, Kidman has been nominated for four Academy Awards, for her work in Moulin Rouge!, 2011’s Rabbit Hole, and 2017’s Lion. It’s hard to say what impact her focus on her career may have had on Isabella Jane Cruise, at the time.
In all, being the child of a celebrity, really any celebrity can be a tough road for many kids. They are thrust into the limelight at an early age and in cases like this one with Isabella Jane Cruise, her parents are about as famous as it gets in the media landscape. It’s no wonder they often retreat later in life and sometimes turn fully away from the glitz and glamour that their parents so desired.
