Pokemon Launching New Anime Series Next Month
A brand new Pokemon anime is scheduled to debut next month, as revealed in an announcement trailer posted on The Official Pokemon YouTube channel yesterday. Titled Pokemon: Palden Winds, the series will consist of four episodes and will be accessible for streaming on YouTube starting September 6th, 2023. This web series is based on the Nintendo Switch games Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Pokemon: Paldean Winds is a new anime series that focuses on the world of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
The distribution approach for this new Pokemon anime is not a novel concept within the franchise. Pokemon has employed this release strategy numerous times before. Spin-off series like Twilight Wings and Generations have typically been made available on YouTube for everyone to watch, free of charge.
The studio responsible for earlier seasons of Attack on Titan and Vinland Saga, WIT Studios, is collaborating on the new Pokemon anime. The project will feature director Ryouhei Takeshita, acclaimed for his involvement in the Japanese manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, along with scriptwriters Teruko Utsumi (Kakegurui) and Keisuke Satou.
The team also includes color designer Ayaka Nakamura (Pokemon: Hisuian Snow), art director Yuuki Funagakure (Mondaiji), 3D director Shigenori Hirozumi (Attack on Titan), Yuuki Kawashita (Vinland Saga), sound director Masafumi Mima, editor Aya Hida (Attack on Titan), and musician Kevin Penkin.
Pokemon: Paldean Winds is being devleoped by WIT Studios, the team behind Attack on Titan’s first seasons and Vinland Saga.
The new Pokemon anime Paldean Winds focuses on a new set of trainers and their starter Pokemon: Quaxly, Meowscarada, and Fuecoco, which debuted in Generation IX’s Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The narrative will delve into the youthful experiences of academy students, capturing their growth and learning as they navigate the challenges of their school life. Based on the trailer, the series appears to center around themes of exploration and personal growth, which are often prevalent in the world of Pokemon games and anime.
As mentioned earlier, the new Pokemon anime is based on the games Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, both set in the Paldean region of the Pokemon universe. They are role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company for Nintendo Switch. They are the first installments in the ninth generation of the Pokemon video game series.
As fans anticipate the upcoming premiere of the new Pokemon anime on YouTube next month, they can stay engaged with Pokemon’s mainline series via Netflix. The streaming platform has revealed that the final season of Pokemon Journeys: The Series will arrive in the United States shortly before the launch of the new anime. For now, viewers can explore the initial three seasons of the show.
Created by Satoshi Tajiri Junichi Masuda Ken Sugimori, Pokemon Journeys: The Series takes viewers on a captivating journey as it delves into the enduring adventures of Ash Ketchum (Sarah Natochenny), and his ever-loyal companion, Pikachu (Ikue Otani).
Pokemon Journeys: The Series is finally bringing Ash’s journey to an end next month when the anime’s final season premires on Netflix.
Together, they venture into the vibrant Galar region, embarking on a quest that goes beyond the conventional boundaries of Pokemon training. With the addition of Goh (Zeno Robinson), a new companion, the trio shares a collective aspiration: to capture a plethora of undiscovered Pokemon species and uncover the underlying mysteries that shroud the vast Pokemon universe.
