Peacock Comedy Series Is A Sitcom Classic Still Worth Binging
It’s been nearly 20 years since the last time we heard the theme song for That ‘70s Show and we can almost guarantee that if you say “Hangin’ out” to someone of a certain age, they’ll reply with “Down the street.” The comedy series was a pivotal one for many of us during our teenage years and was even more so for the cast who got their start on that very recognizable set. In case you missed out, or if you’re just looking to talk a walk down memory lane, we’re here to tell you that all eight seasons of the groundbreaking series are now available to stream on Peacock.
The Cast
The premise of That ‘70s Show is an easy, yet perfect, one as it follows a group of teenagers living during the titular decade. For the most part, Topher Grace’s Eric Forman is the series’ main character as the episodes are largely based around his experiences and most of the action takes place in his parents’ home.
It’s there in the basement that Eric, his girlfriend Donna (Laura Prepon), Donna’s best friend Jackie (Mila Kunis), and Eric’s pals Hyde (Danny Masterson), Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), and Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) plan and get into plenty of hijinks and partake in the occasional smoking circle.
The Basement Scenes
Scenes that featured the gang lighting up a joint and sharing their deepest thoughts are some of the best ones of That ‘70s Show as the camera perfectly cuts to each character around the table as they deliver their line. The vibe captures the feeling that the audience is right there with them, coming up with the next plan for a party or a secret night out on the town all thanks to Eric’s Vista Cruiser.
A Ladder To Bigger Things
As mentioned at the top, the series was a major jumping off point for all of its stars who each have made a name for themselves in Hollywood. After That ‘70s Show, Topher Grace would go on to star as Eddie Brock aka Venom in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 and appear in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar with his recent work including titles like Flight Risk and the ABC sitcom Home Economics.
Laura Prepon would follow-up her work on the timeless sitcom with the Netflix original Orange is the New Black and can currently be seen on the That ‘70s Show sequel series, That ‘90s Show.
Masterson
Wilmer Valderrama has long been a familiar face in the NCIS franchise while Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis not only found the footing for their careers on the series but also fell in love and are now married. Sadly, Danny Masterson’s name became infamous following That ‘70s Show for negative reasons as the actor is now serving time behind bars following numerous rape convictions.

REVIEW SCORE
These days, the legacy of That ‘70s Show lives on in the aforementioned That ‘90s Show, a Netflix series that follows Eric and Donna’s daughter, Leia (Callie Haverda), as she spends her summer at her grandparents’, Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) and Red Forman (Kurtwood Smith), home where it all started a few decades ago.
Now in its second season, the series has done a terrific job of blending the nostalgia of the original series while sticking to a new story.
When it comes to TV shows of the late ‘90s and early 2000s, That ‘70s Show is an iconic piece of entertainment that’s still fun and relevant all these years later. You can now steam the series in its entirety on Peacock.
