The MCU is quite good at keeping its secrets hidden, but every now and again, the fanbase is treated to some behind-the-scenes shots that might give away a bit of the story for whatever movie the shots are taken from. That is the case for the leaked footage of Ant-Man 3 that is now making its way through Twitter. We know that Kang the Conquerer is going to be the main villain of the film, and it looks as though Paul Rudd aka Scott Lang will have his hands full, as he looks destroyed in the image.
The world was introduced to Kang, but in a much different way during Loki Season 1. The Johnathan Majors portrayed villain appeared as The Stranger and was a warning to those who would mess with the “sacred timeline.” The Stranger warned that there was going to be a new version of him appearing, and this version would be someone quite menacing. That appears to have been the truth, as Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) looks as those this version of Kang from Ant-Man 3 is not to be trifled with.
Footage of Ant-Man 3 was shown during San Diego Comic-Con, though that footage has not yet been released online. The above image of Paul Rudd looking like he went one round in the ring with Muhammad Ali was also not mentioned in the description of that footage, leaving us to think that this new image leak might be one that got away from Marvel. They are bound to lose leaks every once in a while, and we are glad and worried now that we know Scott Lang might be in all kinds of trouble.
Most of the original Avengers have now moved on in their careers, leaving only a few left. Thor, Ant-Man, and Hulk are a few left, but we have no idea how Paul Rudd might be feeling now that he has portrayed Scott Lang since 2015. We would not want to assume that Lang is going to be killed by Kang, but the above image leads us to believe that the MCU could possibly explore that route, especially if Rudd is ready to retire from playing everyone’s favorite snarky Avenger.
Though Scott Lang’s death and Paul Rudd leaving after Ant-Man 3 is just speculation at this point, we can infer from the leaked image that Kang is going to possibly be on the same destructive level as Thanos. The MCU does need its next big baddie, and Kang could be that considering there is a film called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty coming out in Phase 6. Kang could be the next huge threat that the Avengers must defeat, leaving the door open for the next, or someone even more powerful.
Our guess for the next villain apart from Kang is Dr. Doom, which could tie in well to the Multiverse Saga. Either way fans can start to speculate now about what is going to happen in Ant-Man 3, and hope that Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is going to make it out of the movie alive, but severely banged up.
