Patrick Stewart Is Almost Certainly Returning To The MCU And We Know When
Patrick Stewart’s Professor X made a surprise MCU appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as one of the members of the Illuminati who met a brutal end at the hands of Scarlet Witch. However, there are rumors abound that Stewart will be reprising the role once again in the upcoming Deadpool 3 film (via Yahoo). With Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine, it would certainly be fitting to have Professor X make an appearance alongside him.
Patrick Stewart Says It’s A Possibility
Patrick Stewart, of course, has remained fairly coy about a potential appearance in Deadpool 3 or any MCU project, but his comments regarding the matter certainly make it seem like it’s possible. In a clip making the rounds on Twitter, Stewart said “It is a possibility,” and, “Hugh Jackman and I looked upon Logan as being our farewell,” adding, “Given that I died in that film, although I’ve been told I’ve actually died several times already.” Given these comments, people are certainly hyped about the possibility of his return.
Deadpool 3 Or Avenger Movies
Patrick Stewart, as he mentioned in the clip, previously appeared as Professor X in Logan, where he passed away. He was also taken out in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While fans thought that Hugh Jackman and Stewart were both done with the roles for good after Logan, the fact that Jackman is in Deadpool 3 and Stewart was in Doctor Strange 2 shows that those lines in the sand aren’t too strict. It’s also possible that Patrick Stewart could pop up in the MCU again outside of a film like Deadpool 3. Perhaps we could see him in the big upcoming Avengers projects like Secret Wars or The Kang Dynasty. In either case, it’s fair to say that fans wouldn’t mind seeing Charles Xavier show up again, as long as the story is right.
Kelsey Grammer Reprises His Role As Beast
Fans have been waiting patiently for the MCU to incorporate the X-Men ever since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, and Patrick Stewart’s brief appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness only fueled those fires. The flames were stoked even more when Kelsey Grammer made a post-credits appearance in The Marvels as Beast, reprising the role from the Fox X-Men films. Since the previous Deadpool movies have all included multiple X-Men and since Deadpool 3 is confirmed to have Wolverine, it would make sense if this film was the way the MCU finally introduced the X-Men in a more official capacity.
Deadpool 3 Is The Only MCU Movie Releasing Next Year
Whether Patrick Stewert is involved or not, Deadpool 3 remains one of the most highly anticipated upcoming MCU films on the docket. It also happens to be the only MCU film scheduled for all of 2024, so people may get the break they need from superhero films to get excited about seeing it. While the film is still a little while away, there’s little doubt that people will be showing up in droves to see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and any other X-Men along for the ride, when the film hits theaters on July 26.
