People Convinced The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus Is Aunt May In Venom 3
When it comes to superhero films, there have always been a lot of wild speculations tossed around by the dedicated and persistent backing of fans. But the recent rumor that The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus would appear as Aunt May in the upcoming Sony/Marvel film, Venom 3, might just take the cake as the wackiest one yet. Just like when Netflix accidentally put The Babadook under its LGBTQ+ collection in support of Pride month, a blunder at Google HQ is responsible for the belief that Reedus would appear as the loving aunt of Peter Parker.
It All Stems From A Typo
As far as we know, Norman Reedus is in no way, shape, or form attached to Venom 3 but, until recently, his name appeared on Google with the character name “May” when users typed in the “Venom 3” in the search bar. This error was all it took for fans to get the ball rolling on the absurd report that Reedus was stepping into the role of Aunt May – but rumors have been started by much less. The word must have eventually found its way back to Google, as the search engine no longer shows The Boondock Saints star’s name when curious minds are studying up on Venom 3.
No Venom, But Plenty Of Walking Dead
So, unfortunately, Norman Reedus will (likely) not be appearing in Venom 3 but there are still plenty of other projects that the actor has up his sleeve. For fans of his work in The Walking Dead franchise, more adventures with his character, Daryl Dixon, are on the way in the second season of the spin-off, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. First premiering on AMC back in September, the show was an instant hit for fans who fell in love with Reedus’ motorcycle-riding zombie hunter back in the show that started it all.
The Bikeriders
Speaking of motorcycles, this year will also see the arrival of Norman Reedus’ latest big-screen performance in the Jeff Nichols-helmed drama, The Bikeriders. A fictional story based on the real lives of the Chicago-based motorcycle crew, Outlaws MC, the movie will be a tale of brotherhood on the open road. Along with Reedus, the film features an impressive cast that includes Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, and, ironically, Tom Hardy who plays the titular alien symbiote in Venom 3.
Ballerina
Norman Reedus’ final project that’s due out in the near-ish future is his work on the John Wick universe spin-off, Ballerina. Just like audiences have been patiently waiting for Venom 3, the hype around Ballerina has been building and building since it was recently revealed that the project would be pushed back to 2025. Still, we’re stoked to see Reedus and other stars including Ana de Armas and Anjelica Huston in a kick-ass movie about one of the most interesting side characters to come from the Keanu Reeves-led franchise.
The Actors Actually In Venom 3
Even though Norman Reedus may not be appearing in Venom 3, that doesn’t mean that Sony doesn’t have plenty of tricks up its sleeve. Included on the call sheet are names like Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, and Clark Backo, although no character descriptions or specific plot details have been released at this time. For now, Venom 3 is slated for release November 8.
