Sharon Stone is most notable for her impressive portrayal of femme fatales, from Verhoeven’s Basic Instinct to Scorsese’s Casino, Stone’s performances captivated audiences far and wide. So when audiences learned that she had been cast as the chief villain in the sequel for the 2021 film Nobody, excitement spread.

Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto, best known for his work on the action movie The Night Comes for Us, will be leading the sequel and Bob Odenkirk will be reprising his role as former government assassin, Hutch Mansell.

While we know Sharon Stone will be playing the lead villain, plot details have been kept tightly under wraps so the full extent of her character is unknown.

The first film, allotted a budget of $16 million, was met with high praise receiving a Rotten Tomatoes audience and critics score of 94 percent and 83 percent respectively. The film grossed over $57 million worldwide, considerably impressive for a mid-pandemic release.

Sequels usually try to bring something bigger and better to the table, with such an impressive first run audiences are anticipating something just as noteworthy. With Sharon Stone’s casting, Nobody 2 is already on the right track.

Stone In Recent Years

In recent years she has been focusing on television work, premiering in Ryan Murphy’s Ratched, as well as her humanitarian work for which she was bestowed the Nobel Peace Summit Award. While these works are extremely impressive and noble, we believe audiences are looking forward to seeing her back on the silver screen.

In an interview with The Guardian, Sharon Stone echoed the sentiment of wanting to come back to Hollywood and how her age has become an obstacle to worthy opportunities.

“I was playing pretty big characters,” she told interviewer Stuart Jeffries “I was standing beside the men instead of behind them.” Sharon Stone later continues, “I was shocked that I didn’t get to continue to work well because I did everything to be my very best.”

Further in the article she does reflect that even in her most successful years as a movie star, things weren’t always sunshine and rainbows. Revealing that while starring in the 1993 film Silver, producer Rober Evans told Stone that she should get physically intimate with her co-star William Baldwin to “improve his performance.”

Part of Stone was content with her philanthropy and fill days spent painting alone in her gallery but clearly something in her told her that she couldn’t turn down the opportunity of a leading role in Nobody 2.

More Updates To Come

Audiences will have to wait another year to see Sharon Stone’s performance but as we get closer and closer to the premiere date the trailers can grant us a sneak peek. For readers who are compelled to learn more about Sharon Stone and her Hollywood experience, her best-selling memoir The Beauty of Living Twice is still readily available to purchase.

For those just reading for updates on Nobody 2, unfortunately, this is about all we know for now, however, stay tuned for more updates from the production team.
