One of the benefits of the advent of social media is the widespread sharing of artwork, and Bosslogic is one of the most popular digital artists on Instagram, with 2.2 million followers. He gained notoriety by creating fan casts and concept art for some of the most popular Marvel, DC, film, and anime characters in existence, even picking up work with Marvel itself.

With that kind of clout, his fan casts may hold a little bit of water with studios, and he has created new concept art in an Instagram post for Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K with an unexpected actor portraying him, Nick Offerman.

With the upcoming Marvel film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the heroes (played by Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly) will face off against not one but two villains in Jonathan Majors’ Kang and the big-headed M.O.D.O.K. While this will be the first appearance of the A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics, who appeared briefly in Iron Man 3) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character recently got his own stop motion animation show starring Patton Oswalt as the former director of A.I.M.

It is likely that this version of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania won’t be connected to the animated show, meaning that there is a need to recast the character, and Nick Offerman is the kind of talent that could bring precisely the feel the Marvel Universe loves to showcase.

While Nick Offerman has a career that reaches all the way back to the mid-90s, he is undoubtedly best known for his portrayal of Ron Swanson in 123 episodes of Parks and Recreation. His deadpan delivery of countless quips and one-liners depicting the quintessential American attitude has become the stuff of TV legend and some of the best memes on the internet.

He isn’t simply a funny man in films like 21 Jump Street and We Are the Millers; he is also set to be seen in The Last of Us as Bill, who is about as dark of a character as you can get.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has perfected the ability to bring a healthy mix of darkness and humor to a universe that has developed over the last decade. While dealing with themes like the death of half of every being in the entire universe, characters like Peter Quill, AKA Starlord (Chris Pratt), and Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), brought levity and wit to scenes that kept the film’s fun to watch.

With Nick Offerman as the villainous leader of Advanced Idea Mechanics following the fall of Aldrich Killian (Guy Pierce) in Iron Man 3, he has the perfect personality for the darkness/humor mix.

The comments section of Bosslogic’s post seems to agree that Nick Offerman is the perfect fit for M.O.D.O.K., and likes approaching 30,000, Marvel may have no choice but to listen. With no information released as of yet on who will play the villain alongside Kang, there is one cast member with an undisclosed part in the movie, Bill Murray. We will have to wait until the movie releases to find out who is in the body suit.
