Dennis Quaid As Ronald Reagan Socks A Mobster In The Jaw In Exciting New Trailer
In recent years, Dennis Quaid has been leaning toward more biographical dramas that tell the true story behind the lives of their leading characters, but he’ll be kicking things up to an entirely new level in the upcoming feature, Reagan. The actor is preparing to unveil his take on the 40th President of the United States in the movie which arrives in cinemas on August 30.
In a brand new trailer, audiences are given their first peek at The Parent Trap actor in his latest role that depicts the actor-turned-politician’s journey to the White House.
Although many view Reagan as a divisive leader, the premiere teaser looks like it will lean away from those types of viewpoints and instead fully back the decisions made by Reagan.
With a slowed-down cover of Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” playing in the background, Dennis Quaid is first spotted as Ronald Reagan on horseback, lamenting to his companion about how he’ll be unable to change the world merely as a governor but could only do so with the power of a president.
The trailer then takes us back through time and explores the early years of Reagan’s life as a young boy forced to stand up to a bully – an experience that would shape the person he’d become. We see him on the sets of Hollywood before he’s asked by lobbyists to run for Governor, a challenge that he gleefully accepts.
Along with Dennis Quaid, there are some other familiar faces that audiences will spot as the trailer for Reagan runs its course.
There are also pieces of the early days of his relationship with his to-be wife, Nancy, and plenty of bits surrounding his staunch anti-communist stance that the future President would become known for during his time in office. Loads of action is packed into the short trailer from fist fights between Dennis Quaid’s Ronald Reagan and mobsters, the assassination attempt that nearly took the President’s life, and his famous speech to Soviet Union leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, that led to the dismantling of the Berlin Wall.
