Netflix Terminator Zero Series Leaks Online In Full
In what appears to be one of the largest entertainment leaks in streaming history, several anime series have been illegally uploaded to social media sites before their scheduled debuts. News of the massive leak first began circulating late on August 7 as episodes of the leaked shows appeared online. One of the fully leaked series includes Netflix’s upcoming Terminator Zero, which is set to premiere on August 29.
Netflix Seems To Be Ignoring It
Unlike many of the other leaked shows, all eight of Terminator Zero Season One episodes were readily available thanks to the leak. As of August 8, Netflix has not commented on the severity of the breach of its streaming content. There is no word on how the breach occurred or whether the streaming giant is in danger of further leaks.
Terminator Isn’t Alone
In addition to the leak of each episode of Netlfix’s Terminator Zero, several other anime projects were leaked as well. Dandadan, Ranma ½, and Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain all were involved in the leak ahead of their premieres. The low-resolution uploads began appearing on popular social media sites such as X and 4Chan.
A Terminator Zero Animator Reacts
In a scathing post on X, Dandadan animator Kass Chapa reacted to the news of the massive leak. “This is our hard work. It is meant to be released on its due date, something we, as animators, really look forward to,” Chapa wrote. “It is incredibly disrespectful and just straight-up annoying. You think you are doing some kind of service to the community but you are not.”
Netflix last faced a massive breach of security in October 2021. The breach occurred when a disgruntled employee allegedly leaked a large amount of confidential company information.
The leak was claimed to be an intentional act, meant to serve as a protest to a recent Dave Chappelle comedy special.
Other Leaks
Although the employee was never named publicly, the leaker was discovered and let go from the company for violating company policies. Earlier in 2021, Netflix was possibly exposed to a massive data leak which affected sites such as Yahoo, Gmail, and LinkedIn as well.
Data from over 3.2 billion collective accounts among the websites were in danger of being exposed.
Produced by Skydance Television and Production I.G., Netflix’s Terminator Zero was developed by Mattson Tomlin, who also wrote each episode. The series is directed by acclaimed animator Masashi Kudō, who is best known for his work on the anime Bleach.
Netflix first announced Terminator Zero in February 2021, with the first teaser trailer appearing in November 2023.
The Story
While Terminator Zero is set in the Terminator universe, it is described as a standalone story that introduces a brand new set of characters.
The series follows the aftermath of Skynet gaining consciousness on August 29, 1997, and waging a war against humanity. The series begins in 2022, where Earth has been ravaged by the extensive war.
A resistance soldier named Eiko (Rosario Dawson) is then sent back in time to 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee (André Holland). Lee has been hard at work on Kokono (Sonoya Mizuno), an AI system attempting to compete with Skynet.
However, Eiko is not alone in her time traveling mission, as a Terminator (Timothy Olyphant) is sent back in order to stop her and Kokono.
