One Piece Anime Movies And Specials Coming To Netflix
One Piece finally made it to Netflix again. To avoid further confusion, considering that Netflix already hosts 15 seasons of the show, the One Piece releases that are scheduled to appear on the platform in September this year are actually One Piece animated movies and TV specials.
Netflix will add One Piece Film: Gold and five One Piece TV specials to its lineup on September 1.
As reported by What’s On Netflix, more One Piece content is heading to Netflix in September, adding One Piece Film: Gold and multiple TV specials to Netflix’s previous One Piece content lineup. Including the additional animated movies enhances the One Piece library present on the platform and provides even more content for the audiences to enjoy, besides the upcoming One Piece live-action series that’s actually scheduled to arrive on Netflix at the end of August.
The arrival of additional One Piece content will most likely increase engagement and time spent on Netflix’s streaming platform after the upcoming live-action series attracts even more subscribers, allowing Netflix to increase its revenue stream generated from adverts. As for the content that’s scheduled to appear on the platform, apart from the aforementioned animated film, Netflix is adding another five TV specials.
One Piece Film: Gold was released in 2016, and it follows Captain Luffy and his crew as they go to the glittering city of Gran Tesoro, a sanctuary for the world’s most infamous pirates, Marines, and rich millionaires.
One Piece: 3D2Y is a TV special released in 2014, in which Luffy helps Boa Hancock rescue his sister, who was previously kidnapped by a pirate who escaped the 6th level of Impel Dawn. One Piece: Adventure of Nebulandia was released in 2015, and it features the return of Foxy Pirates and takes us on a journey to an island that nullifies Luffy’s Devil Fruit powers.
All six releases are a testament to a fantastic world Eiichiro Oda has created, and they often serve to remind the fans of previous story arcs, all of which are currently available on Netflix.
One Piece: Heart of Gold was released in 2016 as a prequel to the One Piece Film: Gold. In the special, the Straw Hat Pirates encounter a mysterious girl pursued by both Marines and a giant sea monster, only to discover that she’s an heir to Gran Tesoro.
This special was followed by 2017’s One Piece Episode of East Blue, but the two aren’t directly connected. Episode of East Blue is a great way for the fans, who started with One Piece later in the run, to get a condensed version of Straw Hats’ early adventures. Both of these are coming to Netflix as well.
The arrival of additional One Piece content will most likely increase engagement and time spent on Netflix’s streaming platform after the upcoming live-action series attracts even more subscribers.
One Piece: Episode of Skypiea is a 2018 TV special that’s one of the more unique and fantasy-driven arcs in One Piece, as it captures the highlights and essential moments, making it easier for fans who might want to revisit the Skypiea arc without rewatching all the episodes.
All six releases are a testament to a fantastic world Eiichiro Oda has created, and they often serve to remind the fans of previous story arcs, all of which are currently available on Netflix.
Netflix currently streams 15 seasons and 381 episodes of the One Piece anime on its platform, allowing the viewers to return to the beginning of one of the most influential anime in this entertainment category. Of course, the platform is short of an additional 1320 episodes.
