Since James Gunn first took on the reigns of the DCU as creative head, fans have been clamoring for any possible casting information. While many fan castings have been made online, Warner Brothers have finally begun to make public announcements regarding what actors have been chosen to bring some of the most iconic comic book characters of all time to life on the big screen.
According to a report from IGN, Nathan Fillion has been cast as a Green Lantern, bringing Guy Gardner to live-action for the first time in Gunn’s upcoming film, Superman Legacy.

Nathan Fillion’s casting as the Green Lantern comes alongside a pair of other announced characters in the film. Edi Gathegi is best known for his work on films such as X-Men: First Class and the Twilight franchise, as well as a seven-episode stint on the hit Fox series House. Before Isabela Merced was cast as Hawkgirl, she had placements in films such as Transformers: The Last Knight, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, and the leading role as the titular explorer in Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
The pair’s inclusion in the upcoming Superman film, alongside Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern, paints an interesting portrait of what’s to come from the now-rebooted DCU.
