Moon Knight Writer Threatens An Extreme Response If Beloved Character Dies In Thor 4
They better not do it!

Fans of Disney+’s newest Marvel series Moon Knight have been treated to a season full of surprises and Egyptian godliness. The latest entry into Phase 4 of the MCU wrapped up earlier this month, but fans are still talking about the star-studded ending that features Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke in powerful roles that defy superhero norms. With a Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score of 92%, the series is one of the most popular to debut on the streaming service to date. Since Giant Freakin Robot broke the exclusive that the character of Moon Knight will be appearing in the fourth installment of Captain America, there may be some speculation that other characters from the hit series may show their faces in other films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And that may not sit well with one specific person.
When Thor: Love and Thunder comes to theaters this July, Marvel will introduce Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, as well as Russell Crowe as Zeus. Gorr the God Butcher’s entire personality rests on the fact that he wants all gods extinct, and will stop at nothing to make sure he eliminates all of the gods in the universe. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Moon Knight writer Jeremy Slater says of the theory that Gorr may end up killing Taweret in the fourth installment of the Thor franchise, “If they kill Taweret, I’m done. I am officially retired. I will not recover from that personally.” Slater went on to elaborate on his love of hippos and how they are more important to him than actual real life human beings are in his life.
To give some backstory: Moon Knight featured a plethora of gods, some that helped Oscar Isaac’s characters of Marc Spector/Steven Grant, and some that hindered his journey throughout the show. One of those gods that assisted Isaac’s characters is the hippo Taweret, played by Antonia Salib, who eventually takes on an avatar form of the character Layla, embodied by Egyptian-Palestinian actress May Calamawy. As confusing as that might be to newcomers to the series, they may be in for a rude awakening when audiences are treated to Thor: Love and Thunder this summer, as some of these gods may reprise their roles in that film as well. Now, as reported by ComicBook.com, one of the writers of Moon Knight has apparently threatened to quit the MCU if one of the characters from the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder offs Taweret.
Speculation aside, there is no word yet if Taweret will be featured in Thor: Love and Thunder. A quick look at IMDB reveals that the Moon Knight actress May Calamawy has not been added to the cast of Thor, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t appear in a cameo role that simply hasn’t been announced yet. As for the rest of the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder, the Taika Waititi directed epic will feature Chris Hemsworth reprising his role as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, along with Thor’s love interest Jane, played by Natalie Portman. There will be appearances by the gang from Guardians of the Galaxy, including Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff.
