Marvel’s Biggest Villain Appearing In Moon Knight?
Was that him?

Since the demise of Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been left speculating as to who the next big bad MCU villain will be. The Disney + series Loki gave us our first glimpse at a potential big bad in Kang the Conqueror, the time-hopping villain who will also be featured in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, as Geekosity Mag has pointed out, many eagle-eyed viewers have spotted in the premiere of Moon Knight that one of Marvel’s biggest villains — Doctor Doom — could be set to make his bow in the MCU.
The visual cue came in one of the scenes in episode one of Moon Knight where Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant wakes in a European country with a more than familiar castle as a backdrop. The castle in question, to many, greatly resembles the Latverian home of Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom. Comic Book also noted several other design cues in the scene that could hint toward Doctor Doom’s presence in the MCU. The armed henchmen chasing Grant in the scene are donned in green and purple — Doom’s signature colours — and the castle itself borders a charming old village. The cues all point toward the location of the scene to be Latveria, and the similarity of the castle to that of Von Doom’s home in the comics appears to strengthen this.
Doctor Doom is considered one of Marvel Comic’s greatest villains and for good reason. He is oft credited as the nemesis to Marvel’s first family The Fantastic Four and has plagued them along with many of Marvel’s heroes ever since his introduction in Fantastic Four #5 in 1962. Before his tease in the premiere episode of Moon Knight, Doctor Doom appeared in all three of 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four movies, with middling results.
While it remains unlikely that Doctor Doom will actually appear in Moon Knight, his eventual entry into the Marvel cinematic universe is more than likely, and this Latverian Castle hint is one of many. Ever since Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, fans have been waiting for the introduction of the Fantastic Four and its associated characters. Jon Watts will be directing a Fantastic Four movie and it is more than likely that we will see Doctor Doom make his MCU introduction here. Other rumors suggest that Doctor Doom may make his MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a film that people believe will also see a confrontation between Wakanda and Atlantis.
It is an exciting time in the Marvel cinematic universe and the ever-spinning rumor mill is in full force. When it comes to Doctor Doom’s MCU arrival, it is not a matter of if but when. As for Oscar Isaac and Moon Knight, it would appear the signs are positive with critics seemingly in unanimous approval that this is another quality product from Disney and Marvel. Fans will be hoping the same can be said when Doctor Doom eventually enters the fray as opposed to his less than liked cinematic appearance in Fantastic Four (2015).
