First Look At Jason Momoa And Brie Larson In Next Fast & Furious: Fast X
Fast X newcomers Jason Momoa and Brie Larson finally are seen in character.
From the streets of Los Angeles to the highways of Miami to the vacuum of space, there is little that the Fast & Furious franchise hasn’t done. With ten films under its belt, including a spin-off featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, you may be wondering where the franchise can go after heading all the way to space in the last installment. Well, according to Collider, the film is heading the superhero route with their first look at franchise newcomers Jason Momoa and Brie Larson in character for Fast X.
In the article, Collider provides us with two images of the new characters but no additional information on who they are playing. The first is a shot of the impossibly cool Jason Momoa in a snakeskin jacket and riding a blacked-out Harley. The second image is of Brie Larson in an unknown bar wearing her own awesomely cool leather jacket and brandishing a shotgun, showing that Momoa and Larson will fit in just fine with the rest of the cast for Fast X.
What we do know about Jason Momoa’s character is that he will play the antagonist, the villain going punch-for-punch with Dominic Toretto and his family of gearheads and misfits. The Aquaman actor revealed at one point in an interview with GQ that there was something deeper to this character than his typical machismo roles. However, he has also been seen driving a lavender vehicle with his toes painted.
As for Brie Larson’s character, there is much less known other than her name, Tess. However, there are some theories that she will be used to bring the late Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner’s character arc full circle. The theory states that the Captain Marvel actor is actually playing O’Conner’s sister, which would make both Momoa and Larson extremely vital to the winding down of the franchise in Fast X.
Also returning for the tenth film is the usual collection of names, including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Sung Kang. Also returning are other franchise veterans Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and Scott Eastwood, along with newcomers Alan Ritchson and Rita Moreno. There are also some rumors floating around that Diesel is working hard to get big hitter Dwayne Johnson to return to the franchise after their very public beef caused the latter to remove himself from further films.
Jason Momoa and Brie Larson fit right in with the rest of the cast in Fast X but may also carry with them some more essential aspects of their roles in the film. With this being part one of the two-part finale to the entire franchise, their parts will be instrumental in tying up many loose ends. One of the more critical loose ends is the Paul Walker story, lending credit to the theory that Brie Larson could be closing out the storyline.
With the cast filling out nicely, there is a lot to look forward to for fans of the films. Hopefully, that means they will keep their feet on the ground and not be returning to space.
