Millie Bobby Brown Lands Top 8 Netflix Movie Views Of All Time
Millie Bobby Brown is no stranger to celebrating success on Netflix. Watching her career take off like it was doused in rocket fuel, the actress is one of the young cast members on the streamer’s hit sci-fi series, Stranger Things. But now, Brown is enjoying a new win over on the platform as her recently released fantasy adventure flick Damsel is now number eight on the list of Most Popular Top 10 Films of all time (English).
Record-Breaking Numbers For Damsel
The hype behind Millie Bobby Brown’s latest Netflix project had been growing since the film was initially announced back in 2020, so when it finally celebrated its premiere on March 8 of this year, audiences were eager to see Brown in her latest role. Viewership numbers immediately began to roll in with Damsel enjoying six weeks in the Global Top 10 Films List, impressively landing a spot in the coveted Top 10 Films in almost 100 countries. Now, after 87 days of streaming, the movie has been watched 137.2 million times.
A Damsel, But Not In Distress
Millie Bobby Brown stars as Princess Elodie in Netflix’s Damsel, a young woman who finds herself betrothed to a storybook-like prince played by Nick Robinson. Eager to meet her future husband and move from her kingdom to his, Elodie sets sail but can’t even begin to imagine what awaits her on the other side. When she arrives in her new city, Elodie soon discovers that she’s not there to be a wife and future queen but is instead set to be sacrificed to a dragon to keep up with a bargain made between the royal family and grandiose beast.
Using her brains, skill, and muscle, Elodie attempts to outsmart the fire-breathing creature and make it out alive.
Top-Tier Talent Seals The Deal
As can be expected from the streamer, Millie Bobby Brown and Nick Robinson’s additions to the call sheet are just the tip of the iceberg, as Netflix spared no expense in assembling a cast filled with top-tier talent for Damsel.
Joining the young pair are Academy Award-nominee Angela Bassett (the Black Panther franchise), BAFTA nominee Ray Winstone (Black Widow), and Golden Globe recipient, Robin Wright (House of Cards). The film was the latest to come from director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the visionary behind the zombie flick 28 Weeks Later.
Millie Bobby Brown As Enola Holmes
On top of Damsel and Stranger Things (the latter of which we’ll return to in just a second), Millie Bobby Brown has previously worked with Netflix on the growing franchise, Enola Holmes. Based on the novels penned by Nancy Springer, the two movies center on Brown’s portrayal of the titular sleuth who is the younger sister to the infamous Sherlock Holmes. Yet another A-list cast for the streamer, the movies have featured performances from Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Sam Claflin, and more. The next installment in the film series is expected to arrive next year.
Back To Her Roots With Stranger Things
Transporting audiences back to Hawkins, Indiana and The Upside Down for one final season, next year will also see the release of the Millie Bobby Brown-led sensational Netflix series, Stranger Things. The stakes have never been higher so fans can expect an explosively exciting grand finale from the mind of the Duffer Brothers.
