Millie Bobby Brown’s Blockbuster Monster Movie Is Climbing The Streaming Charts
Godzilla vs. Kong is fighting its way to the top 10 of Amazon Prime Video and features Millie Bobby Brown and Alexander Skarsgard.
Who doesn’t love big monsters duking it out and laying waste to an entire metropolitan city? Well, a ton of people certainly do, as Godzilla vs. Kong is currently battling its way up the streaming charts and has landed at #5 on Amazon Prime Video. The monster movie stars Millie Bobby Brown in one of the most epic battles the world has ever seen.
Godzilla vs. Kong was part of the dual plan that Warner Bros. had to release their big hit movies on both HBO Max and in theaters. Despite the moving being on both, it pulled in a whopping $470.1 million at the worldwide box office, against a budget of $155 to $200 million. The monster battle movie currently holds a 75% “certified fresh” critic rating and a 91% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is the biggest blockbuster that Millie Bobby Brown has been part of so far.
Godzilla vs. Kong follows the events of both Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Monarch is monitoring the life of Kong, who is on Skull Island, while Apex Cybernetics has its facility attacked by Godzilla. This random attack is believed to be the cause of Godzilla wreaking havoc like the rest of the Titans, but Madison Russell (Millie Bobby Brown) believes otherwise.
Madison Russell (Millie Bobby Brown) joins Bernie Hayes who is an Apex Cybernetics whistleblower and Titan conspiracy theorist, as they try and determine why Godzilla has decided to start attacking facilities. Kong is transported from Skull Island to where scientists believe Hollow Earth exists. Soon after, more chaos ensues and plenty of monster fights take place.
One of the shining elements of Godzilla vs. Kong is that Adam Wingard helped to take out the dramatic human element in favor of showcasing monsters fighting with one another, which is arguably the biggest reason why people go see monster movies. Though there is some comedic relief from Millie Bobby Brown and her cohorts, the movie was mostly showcasing Kong and Godzilla in some of the most epic battles between monsters that the cinema world has ever seen.
Godzilla vs. Kong also served as the fourth film in Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse. Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and Godzilla vs. Kong are all part of a massive universe that follows Godzilla and Kong. The upcoming Godzilla and the Titans series and the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel will also expand the MonsterVerse, though we are not sure if Millie Bobby Brown will be cast in either.
Millie Bobby Brown is joined by Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Lance Reddick, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir in the movie. Godzilla vs. Kong was directed by Adam Wingard, who is also tasked with directing the upcoming sequel movie as well.
Everyone can stream Godzilla vs. Kong on Amazon Prime Video right now, and see why critics and audiences alike have praised the movie and Millie Bobby Brown’s performance. At the very least, everyone gets to see two giant monsters duke it out for the fate of humanity itself. Also, we have not ruined the whole movie, and there are some surprises for those who have not yet seen it.
