Millie Bobby Brown Is About To Be A Published Author, Here’s Her First Book
Millie Bobby Brown is about to release her first novel, a historical fiction book based on the life of her grandma.
As an international superstar known for one of the world’s most famous television shows, Millie Bobby Brown has already accomplished more than most 19-year-old women her age. She plays Eleven on Netflix’s Stranger Things, broke out as a producer in the Sherlock Holmes movies Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2 (in which she also starred), and now she’s about to become a published author. Brown’s first book, a historical fiction based on a true story, is set to release at the end of this summer, according to MovieWeb.
Nineteen Steps is the title of Millie Bobby Brown’s first novel, a historical fiction piece scheduled to be published by Harper Collins this coming September. The story is based on her own family’s history, focused primarily on Brown’s grandmother, Ruth (who she’s renamed Nellie in the book). It’s a tale about love and loss during World War II and recounts the darker moments that took place in Benthal Green during that time frame.
Nineteen Steps follows Nellie as she meets a young airman named Ray, who is stationed at the Benthal Green station. When the station is demolished in an air raid that kills hundreds of people (including children), Nellie must figure out how to cope with being one of the survivors. Since Nellie is based on Millie Bobby Brown’s grandmother, the young actress felt as if the WWII catastrophe was especially close to her heart and an important story to tell.
“I grew up listening to stories about her time living through the war. I’m honored to keep her story alive,” Millie Bobby Brown said, referring to her grandmother.
Millie Bobby Brown began acting at the age of nine when she appeared as Young Alice in the television series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. She began picking up small roles in major television series like NCIS, Modern Family, and Grey’s Anatomy before snagging her breakout role as Eleven in Stranger Things, a part that she will wrap up by the end of this summer. Brown is already filling up her schedule with projects for life after Stranger Things, with movies like Damsel and The Girls I’ve Been well in the works, but it seems the young actress has stories to tell off-screen as well.
Nineteen Steps will be Millie Bobby Brown’s first novel, though it likely won’t be her only publication. The novel is set to hit the bookshops on September 12 and is the next project fans will have access to. While Brown will wrap up filming on Stranger Things this summer, the final season of the adventure thriller series likely won’t be released on Netflix until sometime next year.
Millie Bobby Brown will also appear in Damsel, which releases this fall on October 13. Damsel follows Brown as Princess Elodie, a young maiden who believes she is marrying a perfect prince but is instead sacrificed to a dragon. When no one comes to save her, Elodie must learn to save herself.
In addition to Damsel, Millie Bobby Brown is also working on The Electric State, which is in post-production, The Girls I’ve Been, which has begun pre-production, and The Thing About Jellyfish, which is in development.
