Paramount+ is prepared to make us an offer we can’t refuse by revealing the first trailer for their upcoming series, The Offer. The ten-episode show, centered around the creation of The Godfather, will take die hard and regular fans alike on a scripted behind-the-scenes journey of the iconic mobster film. The Godfather TV series stars Miles Teller as Albert S. Ruddy alongside an allstar cast made up of Matthew Goode as Robert Evans, Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, Burn Gorman as Charles Bluhdorn, Colin Hanks as Barry Lapidus, and Patrick Gallo as Mario Puzo.
The trailer shows viewers Miles Teller portraying Albert Ruddy as he sets out to complete his gangster based film. However, Albert sees the film as much more than your run of the mill mafia joint. He views it as a “metaphor for the American dream” and a film about the bonds that hold families together. Although Robert Evans (Matthew Goode) knows the film would be an absolute sensation, the production team has a lot of hurdles to jump over, some more threatening than others.
For starters, as Barry Lapidus (Colin Hanks) tells them, the public’s enjoyment of mobster movies is no more. But, this isn’t even the worst part. As the film begins to move into production, the creators come under the heat of Italian American groups and the actual mob. Fighting for his vision to become a reality, Albert (Miles Teller) will stop at nothing to make his dream come to life.
Unveiled at Paramount+’s Television Critics Association presentation, the teaser shows the dynamite cast in action. Miles Teller and the rest of the ensemble pull out all the stops to render the emotion and intrigue to tell the story behind one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbuster hits. Created and written by Michael Tolkin, Dexter Fletcher directed the series with Nikki Toscano serving as showrunner. Ruddy produced the series.
Miles Teller and the rest of his castmates have taken on a huge task in telling the story behind the multiple award winning film. The Godfather came out in 1972 and quickly took the film community by storm. Everything about it seemed to draw audiences in from the well written story to the fictional Corleone family. Not to mention the incredible lineup of talent. Legendary actors including Marlon Brando and James Caan starred in the film alongside (at the time) up and coming stars Al Pacino, Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton.
At the young age of 34, Miles Teller has already had a critically acclaimed career in film. Shortly after his graduation from college, the young actor snagged a part in Rabbit Hole, being specifically chosen for the part by the film’s star, Nicole Kidman. His next big role was in the music conservatory based film, Whiplash, for which the young actor earned several nominations including the BAFTA Rising Star Award. He continued to make moves starring in the Divergent film franchise.Be sure to watch the full trailer, which we shared above, to check out Miles Teller, Matthew Goode, Colin Hanks, and the rest of the crew behind The Offer in the series’ first teaser.
