The first trailer for Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse is here. Amazon Studios has finally given us a full look at Michael B. Jordan as John Clark, the Navy SEAL with a mission of a personal nature. Watch the trailer here.
Would you walk through fire to avenge the love of your life? The trailer started off telling us that Michael B. Jordan’s character was a scary badass, and it ended by showing us exactly that as he lit that car on fire and climbed in. Clearly, the guy in the back seat is at the center of John Clark’s goals. The trailer sticks to telling us about what John Clark wants: to avenge the murder of his pregnant wife. This is a goal that’s easy to get behind.
The trailer did a great job of making us care about Michael B. Jordan and his revenge story, promising a solid movie ahead. We know a bit more about the storyline from the synopsis for Without Remorse, and the book it’s based on.
As Michael B. Jordan’s character goes about avenging the murder of his family, he’ll find himself at the center of a larger conspiracy. All he wants is to kill the operatives responsible for destroying his life. It’s an understandable goal, and he seems unstoppable. While he may have reason to be able to do this without feeling any remorse, he’s going to have to deal with stopping war between the United States and Russia. Or at least, he’s going to be asked to deal with that. There will likely be a moment where he has to decide if he cares about that when he has revenge on his mind.
Without Remorse is based on the Tom Clancy novel by the same name. Paramount Studios recently pulled the movie from its schedule for theatrical releases. They secured a deal with Amazon Studios. There couldn’t be a better streaming service for the new Michael B. Jordan movie. Amazon Prime is where you can also watch Jack Ryan. That television series was based on the Tom Clancy novels and starred John Krasinski.
This is only the beginning of Tom Clancy projects for Michael B. Jordan. We’ve recently learned that he will also be adapting the popular novel Rainbow Six. Rainbow Six takes place in the same universe as the Jack Ryan stories. It was released after Without Remorse and follows the same main character. While Rainbow Six follows the same main character, the stories standalone so you can enjoy them separately. This has meant that they haven’t been considered a series, though they take place in the same universe, and adaptations have been done separately in the past. Now, we should be seeing Michael B. Jordan play John Clark in both films, connecting them for audiences.
Rainbow Six was previously adapted as a popular video game from Ubisoft. Now, we’ll finally be seeing Rainbow Six on screen. While this hasn’t been officially announced by the studios yet, there are hints everywhere. In the movie poster for Without Remorse, you’ll notice a mentioning of Rainbow Six in the top right corner.
