After meeting on the sets of Midnight in the Switchgrass over a year ago, real-life couple Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are reuniting on the silver screen once again. The upcoming music saga, Taurus, which is set to feature Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Baker) as a “rising but troubled” musician, has amped up its cast with more additions including Megan Fox. The actress will be seen playing his character’s spiteful ex-girlfriend in the film.
Deadline has reported that after the casting of Machine Gun Kelly as the lead character, the Rivulet Media film has added Maddie Hasson, Demetrius ‘Lil Meech’ Flenory, Scoot McNairy, Ruby Rose, recording artist Lil Tjay, Megan Fox, and musician Naomi Wild. Machine Gun Kelly will be seen as a struggling musician striving to find a sliver of inspiration that will allow him to record the last song of his career. But apart from his “sister-like assistant” (Maddie Hasson), no one is truly concerned about him.
While his collaborators (Scoot Mcnairy, Lil Meech, and Lil TJay) just want him to somehow be there in the studio no matter how desperately he needs motivation, his dealer (Ruby Rose) and his ex (Megan Fox) prove to be the catalyst in forcing him further down the emotional and mental hell hole. As reported by the outlet, Taurus, will explore “the darkness of fame, addiction, the artistic process, and the music industry.”
Directed by Tim Sutton and based on his screenplay, the film reportedly takes inspiration from young rappers like Mac Miller, Lil Peep, Pop Smoke, etc. The MGK and Megan Fox starrer was originally titled Good News, after the late American rapper Mac Miller’s first posthumous single from Circles. But Miller’s brother, Miller McCormick, criticized the decision and demanded via his Instagram Story to change the title of the film. Soon after, Rivulet Media, told E! News in a statement that even though their film’s title was intended as a “homage to Mac Miller,” they will rename it in light of the criticism it was attracting.
Machine Gun Kelly was recently seen in the Western movie, The Last Son, where he plays the role of Sam Worthington’s son. The latter goes on a spree, killing all his estranged sons after he discovers a dark prophecy predicting that he will be murdered by one of his children. After Taurus, he will again share the silver screen with Megan Fox in the upcoming film Good Mourning With A U, which he will also be co-directing.
As for Megan Fox, the actress too has many projects in store. Apart from Taurus and the comedy Good Mourning With A U, her upcoming films include Big Old Brick, which will be a dark comedy featuring Emory Cohen, Andy Garcia, Lucy Hale, Oscar Isaac, Shiloh Fernandez, and Frederick Schmidt. She has also joined the voice cast of the upcoming animated film Naya Legend of the Golden Dolphin and has been cast as a mercenary in The Expendables 4. Fox’s next prominent role will be in the thriller Johnny and Clyde, opposite Tyson Ritter, wherein she will play crime boss Alana.
